☼ In the Wilds (Kate | N)

Kate smiled and hummed as she walked along one of the paths in the Pinwheel Forest, Pachi perched on her head as she looked around. It was a beautiful spring day and she'd decided to come to the Pinwheel Forest on her day off to get away from Almia for a while. While she loved her friends, she still needed to have time for herself every now and again. She had her camera around her neck as she looked for photo opportunities, but nothing was really catching her attention which was a bit upsetting. Granted, she was best at underwater photography, so land left her a little lacking. 

She was quickly drawn away from her thoughts, however, when low vibrations made her clap her hands over her ears, wincing at the pain from her ringing ears. The ground shook as if in an earthquake, but she was unfazed as she drew her Styler back. A Seismitoad lumbered around the corner, the low vibrations continuing as Kate gritted her teeth and let her Capture Disc loose. The Pokemon batted at the small object but her reflexes were quicker as she captured the Pokemon in a few moments, sighing when the vibrations stopped. She walked over to the Seismitoad and put her hand on it as it flinched away from her. "It's all right; I won't hurt you," she said gently, rubbing its head. It looked at her warily but didn't move away as she found a nasty gash along its back. She sighed and shook her head, knowing that poachers had caused it.

Was that…N? The Plasma grunt refrained from drawing his Pokeballs or making any hostile movement, but rather, he simply stood there. Quite frankly, he was shocked. He didn’t harbor such strong feelings of abhorrence for N as the other members of Team Plasma did. But with such a history, it did make this encounter awkward and if anyone did witness him with the young “king”, he would be suspected as a traitor… “N…It’s uh…been a while since we’ve seen you.” He paused with a moment of silence and attempted to pull out any random question he could think of. “How are you…?”

Damn. He wasn't expecting to stop here. Last time he had checked, his motorcycle could last for at least a few more miles. He felt like an idiot for not checking again, now he had to drag the vehicle alongside him. While he may have noticed another person available for assistance, he decided that he wouldn't ask for help.
