♟—- Leaning against the doorframe of the Frigate’s armory, Dedric chuckled as he sent the photo. The taco looked rather morbid. It’s filling and bread had completely turned green and mushy. It couldn't have been older than nine months.

⊰°˖❀⋰Takako was mostly concentrated on trying to make sure the male was able to keep up with the game at first, she correcting when needed. Once she was convinced he’d be okay at playing without any assistance, Tiny hands could be seen either lightly patting at his, but then she paused, when he seriously began to talk about his wish. She lightly giggled toward the end of his wish, having not expected the lifetime supply of Shin raymun. She paused to think of the rest of what he said, shaking her head slightly.
❝I-I don’t think it’s selfish a-at all, Dedric…❞ she began, monitoring the game as she spoke,❝ Y-you know, I think we all have things we want to fix, so it’s o-only normal for you to want to wish that for yourself…but whatever it may be, don’t y-you think it’s really good t-that you now want to change those things?❞ Takako paused, her face flushing, maybe she wan’t quite making sense,❝ Uwah…I-I mean, doesn’t t-that make you a better person since y-you’ve realized that those things should have been different ? Um I-I just f-forgive me if I’m o-overstepping—-❞ She now shifted awkwardly, maybe she didn’t sound like she knew what she was talking about. Taka flustered herself and shut herself up, hands coming up to her pink cheeks. He then asked about her wish. It took the tiny ravenette several moments. She always had a wish prepared but since this was so spontaneous, she hadn’t taken the moment to think of the wish. Onyx colored eyes looked up at the ground and traveled to the sky until they landed back on him. Having no clue just how much she meant to him, or the kind of effect she might have on him, when she spoke the next words, she thought nothing of it. A large grin appeared on her peachy lips and she winked toward him.
❝W-Who says I don’t everything I-I’ve wished for with me tonight already? I-I get to spend the evening with you, don’t I ?❞
The poor girl was oblivious what she just said, she simply jesting with him. Quietly she watched as he fell silent, had she said something wrong? Taka jumped slightly, leaning in closer to him, a hand still resting on his. Her mind tried to go over the words she had just spoken, she trying to figure out what could have made the male fall silent.
❝ D-dedric, a-are you okay? Did I-I say something wrong o-or…a-are you sleepy? I-I know it’s late, but I p-promise the meteor shower will come soon. I-It’s really worth it, r-right Prince ?❞
At this point a snort could be heard from the canine, the atmosphere was getting a little too cheesy for his taste.
♟—- He eventually began to pick up the pace. Staring absently at the grass between them, he reflected upon Taka’s words regarding his own, "A better person, huh? I feel that...wanting to change something you've done doesn't change the fact that you did it in the first place. Sometimes the regret isn’t even there. Sometimes, I don’t mind if I make the same “mistakes” again. All of your errors stick with you, even if you don’t remember what you did that was wrong.” He sighed and looked back at Taka, his gaze softening, “But I understand what you’re saying and I’ll take your word for it. It’s alright, you’re not overstepping.”
He didn’t know how he felt about becoming a “better person”. It was too complicated of a topic for him and he was usually too lazy to seriously reflect on it. Dedric had waited patiently as Taka considered her answer. When he’d met her eyes again. he caught her grin. And...was that a wink? Did he see that right?
Aqua orbs focused on her as heat rose to his cheeks. Her statement had roused unbelievable happiness in him. It made him feel warm- his heart even lurched. But...it hurt simultaneously. He was skeptical and perhaps a bit perplexed. It was as if he were searching her eyes and waiting for her to say it was a joke. Now-a-days, he has trouble believing in words such as those. For now, he settled with a pleased, gentle smile. Oh, it if it were true...
And so his silence pursued, hanging over them for a while longer as the game progress. A warmth and voice had interrupted it as Dedric felt her hand close over his. Flinching slightly, he drew his hand away from hers, as if he’d touched fire. "A-ah yeah, I'm fine. Please don’t blame yourself, I just spaced out for a bit. I don’t mind staying late either, honest." He looked at Prince and Penelope, “I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait.” He laughed softly and gave a smile, but he looked somewhat...tired. He was normally quite good at faking smiles and laughs when he wanted to be. Though he didn’t know if that applied to the current situation. He only hoped that Taka would fall for it. Ah, there he was- distancing himself again. But it was for the best, right?
The grunt took a gander at the sky. The meteor shower should be starting very soon. He began softly, “Taka...I never thanked you for much, have I?” Dedric gathered the strength to keep eye contact, “Don’t let this get to your head but I think seeing you...makes my day better. It’s always rather cold around the people I work with, and after a while that atmosphere begins to stick with you. So to feel your warmth and see your smile is refreshing. ” He started to get the feeling that what he was saying was silly and averted his gaze, “I-I mean, what I’m saying is that...ugh this is gonna sound tacky as fuck- I want to make you as happy as you do for me. But I just...don’t know how to do that anymore.” He hoped he hadn’t made things awkward. He knew he wasn’t very good at conveying what he felt, but he needed to tell her.
{ ♛ } - The actress had decided to settle in Nimbasa, the young woman had decided to take a break and relax. Seeing as there was no big movies currently a long intermission was just what she needed. Having to keep her phone on silent least she constantly hear the annoying ring tone of her manager. You would think she never worked with hos many times the guy called today but this was her day. With her Ampharos coming to her side and making excited chirping noises as they walked together, almost simulating a conversation.
Most tended to awkwardly look at her or get a bit to close for comfort was she was making a habit of having her pokemon out. Though cause of their conversation she barely avoided being knocked down by the taller male. Actually stopping in her tracks in time with the taller male as blue eyes looked up in surprise. A bit surprised at the foreign language that came out as well as how he didn’t see her there.
Did he not know who she was…? There was a mix of skepticism as she watched him walk pass her, not almost curious at the stranger. Her electric pokemon making a small noise in confusion at it’s trainer before looking also. Thinking that he was going to leave without knowing who he almost bumped into.
“He’s an odd man now isn’t he?” Rosa mused to her pokemon as they looked at the man who seemed very disappointed over something. Only to once again be surprised as he comes back and questions them about a cafe. One she remembered going to quite a bit in Nimbasa before they had moved. Crossing her arms a bit as she looked at the taller male, she hums a bit.
“I know the one you’re talking about, they moved quote a long time ago.” Rosa mused as she moves a hand to stroke her pokemon. “A lot of stores seemed to move or tried to move cause of the Join Avenue. They aren’t in Nimbasa anymore having moved to Lacunosa City, apparently having trouble making ends meet. I was surprised to as many people loved it but the price of running a store have gotten expensive so can’t really blame them for moving to a less demanding city…”
Unova was a place where anyone can try to make it big but sometimes despite your hard work or how much people love your work new things tend to over shadow old. It’s really sad as she enjoyed the store and would have offered to have them come to Join Avenue but they had long since left. At least from what she checked they were doing well in that city as the old customs city always enjoyed a good place to eat. As not many big time restaurants would come by there.
♟—- The grunt’s eyes widened in disbelief, “N-no way, that far? You’ve got to be kiddin’ me...And just because of some silly street?” He scowled and rubbed at his temples, hissing softly. Fuck, Lacunosa was a long way from Nimbasa. Fontaine would never accept such a request to take him so far, even if it was to buy to treats. Moreover, he didn’t see how this “Join Avenue” had the right to push so many businesses out to make room for itself. He’d heard often of Join Avenue from fellow grunts but he never bothered to look into it- it sounded useless anyway. Now that he thought about it, the girl looked familair too but he didn’t think much of it.
“Geez, what a fuckin’ bummer.” Dedric had muttered more to himself than to the girl. Well, that was the merciless world of business for ya’. He understood that sometimes things did not turn out so fortunate for everyone. He assumed it was like spring cleaning: out with the old and in with the new. He only hoped the cafe’s relocation was for the best. He’d have to visit it some other time.
Azure orbs turned to her again, his hand rubbing at the back of his neck, "Uh…do ya’ know any cafes nearby, then? I’ve got time t’ waste somewhere but I’m afraid ‘M not too familiar with this city. I’m sorry for askin’ so many questions..." He was almost ashamed to admit it. What Unovian wasn’t in tune with Nimbasa City? Well, he has only been around Nimbasa four times, with two of those events being missions. It wasn’t like he was a regular to the city.
”Oh, sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. You can uh….you can just call me Dedric, I guess?” His sentence jumbled off clumsily as his gazed shifted to the side. Normally he didn’t talk to strangers or anyone outside of relevance to his organization, much less give them his first name (not that they would think much of it later on anyway). But if he was going to pester someone like this, he’d might as well try to be polite (with emphasis on “try”). Besides, she probably won’t remember his name the next day. He noticed her companion Ampharos and gave a slight smile of acknowledgement.
♟—-"Uh....Midlife crisis? I've already had like 5 of them, I think."
