Strong Feelings | Audrey Lane x Fem Reader | fluff
Summary: You date Chocol regardless of knowing the truth. When you get dumbed, Audrey is there for you.
A/N: HI!! I am trying to expand my horizons and write more fics not only for Bada 😅 bear with me loves!! I promise I will try to do better now that summer vaycay🥳 also, I’m introducing a pov section on my fics just so you can know who it’s telling the story… anyway! Enjoy!!!
I grew up dancing. My mom said that I danced before I could even walk. That's just what I was born to do. There are certain things you are meant for or people that are meant for you.
For example, I was meant to be in that dance studio when I got recruited by Nick. I was meant to meet Emma, Latrice, Kirsten, and Ling. I was always meant to join Jam Republic and travel to Korea. It all felt right.
What no one told me is that when someone is not meant for you, and you want them really bad, it hurts. That's how I felt about Y/N.
Y/N was like a deep blue ocean, and the more you look at her, the deeper you sink. There is no escape from her eyes. The way her body moves captures you.
So why wasn't she meant for me if I would be pulled deeper by her every time she was around?
Her so-called girlfriend would always be around. I mean... I don't blame her. Who could possibly resist Chocol's nonchalant charisma?
I could. I only wanted one person. But... why couldn't she belong to me? Why did being close to her feel so right?
"Hey, Audrey. Ugh! I'm so tired," Y/N said as she sat next to me.
Her sweat was gracefully adorning her face, making her features pop.
"Hi," I replied with a soft smile.
"Practice has been killing me! How can I possibly help Wolf ' Lo dance sexy? It's so funny," she said. She told me all about practice and how she felt like making her team dance to a song like "Chili" seemed to be the biggest challenge in her career.
Her laugh and giggles were a sweet melody to my ears, and her smile was a painting I could get lost in.
"... but I think the girls will do well. How was your practice?" she asked.
"It was great. You know, Kirsten has the "best leader" title. Don't tell the others I said that," I said, and she laughed.
"Hey, I realized you and I haven't really had much time to chat lately. We should go get some drinks. I mean, if you want," she rubbed her nape.
I blinked a few times. Was it my imagination, or was she blushing? There was no way, right? She has a girlfriend.
"Y/N, come here for a sec," I heard a deep voice call her. Y/N left without a warning, and when I looked up, Chocol's arm was around her waist as she pulled her closer. A soft blush was painting across her face, like when she was talking to me.
My blood boiled when I saw the mischievous smirk she sent Monika's way.
"Is she using Y/N to get Monika jealous?" I asked as I nudged Emma's shoulder.
"Does it bother you?" she asked.
"Are you kidding me?" I asked.
"Well, if it does, why don't you say something? Tell her how you feel," she said. I can always count on Emma to be blunt and straightforward with me.
"Look, if I do, I might just make things awkward for the rest of the season. Things are already weird with Chocol and me," I sighed and paused.
"Look, I love you, but if you don't do something, you'll keep hurting, and she might get hurt as well. Anyway, we should go." Emma said as she pointed her head towards Chocol and Y/N, who were now arguing.
I picked up my bag and left the room before I let them get the best of me.
The following weeks were the same. Y/N would be used by chocol to make Monika jealous, and they would end up arguing. I was always there to comfort Y/N, but it got ot a point where I got really upset at Y/N.
Because after all, she was the one who decided to stay next to Chocol even after knowing that she wasn't over her ex. So, I just kept my distance. All this drama might have been feeding the media, but it just didn't sit right with me.
Until one day, Y/N asked me for a favor. She wanted to know if I could help her with some costumes, and I agreed. I mean... sure, I was trying to keep my distance, but that didn't change the fact that I was head-over-heels for her and I would do anything to spend time with her.
"Hey! I'm done for now. Do you want me to help?" I asked as I approached her. She gave me a small smile and nodded.
"Oh, Emma is going to help me as well. Do you mind?" She shook her head and told us to follow her.
"So, my idea was to make a Jersey shirt with our birth year and name in the back, but I've never done this. I also wanted to make socks to match and-" When she opened the door to her dressing room, we encountered something.
Something we probably should have never witnessed.
Monika and Chocol were making out with their hands all over, but all of that came to a halt when we opened the door.
"Shit," Monika said as she sat up and wiped the lipstick away.
Y/N's eyes filled with tears as Chocol tried to compose herself.
"I don't know why I was so stupid to think that we could ever work. Clearly not. I am sorry I ever got in the way of... this," she said before walking away before any tear could slip away.
That is what I noticed after working with her for so long. She never let anyone shed a tear. Chocol stood up and tried to go after her but Emma got in the way.
"What are you going to do? Are you going to tell her how it was a mistake and lure her back to you, or tell her you love her, but things couldn't work out? Whatever you say to her is going to hurt her even more, so just drop it," Emma said, making Chocol grip her hair in frustration.
"Go after her," Emma said, and I thanked her before running. I looked everywhere till I found her wandering the parking lot. Her usual spot for crying. No cameras, and a nice cool breeze to clear her mind.
"Am I welcome?" I asked softly. She sniffled and wiped her tears away.
"Yeah! Come on," she said. She sat on the floor and patted the spot beside her.
"How are you feeling?" I asked. She shrugged and laughed.
"It's just so crazy, but I'll be fine. Don't you worry about me. We should really get to work on those-" She was about to get up, but I held her arm. She stopped, and I moved my body closer to her.
"You don't have to hide from me. You can let it all out, and I'll be here for you," I gave her a smile. She looked confused, but I saw her eyes fill with tears once again. She immediately buried her face in my chest and cried.
I cried with her. I had never heard such deep sobs from her before. Her cries made her body move up and down, and all I did was hug her tightly. I kissed her head, and after a few minutes she began to calm down.
"Oh gosh!" she said as she moved back. She started whipping my tear-soaked shirt with a tissue.
"Hey, it's fine," I stopped her and wiped her tears with my thumbs as I cupped my face.
"I really do not deserve you. You have always been there for me, and all I do is run to someone who clearly doesn't want anything to do with me... Im sorry," she said, and held my hand.
"I hate that I never really saw the gem that was next to me all the time, and if you allow me, I will make it up to you. I promise," she said, making my face heat up, but I took my shot.
"Don't worry. I have a few ideas in mind on how you can make it up to me." I winked at her. She giggled and nudged me.
We walked back inside hand in hand.
The rest of the season, I could see her become more confident and happy, and I was happy to say I was there every step of the way. And that's how I knew, we were always meant to be. She was born for me, and I was born for her. It was all fate.
