Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu -The 2015 Cobra Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 Philippines was once again successful held in Cebu. Eight of the Top 10 Pro Male athletes were from Australia. The Australian domination was led by Tim Reed who finished the race in 3:46:03 and just 2 seconds ahead of fellow Aussie Tim Van Berkel. Defending champion Brent McMahon of Canada was a further for minutes back from the Australian pair.

Tim Reed (AUS) wins the 2015 Ironman Philippines 70.3
1. Tim Reed (Australia) – Professional Triathlete Tim Reed confessed in his website that his favorite discipline is running and he proved it in the 2015 Cobra Energy Drink Ironman Philippines 70.3 by having the best running split of 1:16:35 which was 7 seconds better than the 2nd place Tim Van Berkel. The 7-seconds difference was enough to overtake his countryman and bag the coveted Cobra Ironman title. His run time was also 4 and a half minutes faster than defending champion Brent McMahon who was ahead by 10 seconds after the bike leg. 2015 Splits: Swim – 22:57 Bike – 2:03:21 Run – 1:16:35 Total – 3:46:03
2. Tim Van Berkel (Australia) – The 2010 and 2011 Copenhagen Challenge Champion came up just 2 seconds short of becoming the 2015 Cobra Ironman Philippines Champion. He had the best bike split in the competition finish the 90 km ride in just 2:03:15. He was, however, outran by Tim Reed by 7 seconds to beaten at the finish line. 2015 Splits:Swim – 22:58 Bike – 2:03:15 Run – 1:16:42 Total – 3:46:05

3. Brent McMahon (Canada) – 2014 Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines winner worked hard to keep his title and he was almost successful as he was leading going to the 21 Km run. He had a good run pace, but it was not as fast the two Australians who overtook him the final phase of the triathlon. He is the only non-Australian in the Top 9 of this year’s competition. 2015 Splits:Swim – 22:51 Bike – 2:03:17 Run – 1:21:01 Total – 3:50:23
4. Mitch Robins (Australia) – The Philippine-based Australian had a good race. He would have made it to the podium had he had a better bike leg. He was around 5 minutes of the pace of the leaders in that leg. Splits:Swim – 22:58 Bike – 2:08:05 Run – 1:21:00 Total – 3:50:23

5. Craig Alexander (Australia) – 3-Time Ironman World Champion Craig Alexander of Australia finished 5th in this year’s edition of the Ironman 70.3 Philippines. Splits:Swim – 23:01 Bike – 2:07:53 Run – 1:22:500 Total – 3:57:11
6. Luke McKenzie (Australia) – Splits:Swim – 23:00 Bike – 2:05:47 Run – 1:25:26 Total – 3:57:45
7. Peter Jacobs (Australia) – Many time winner Pete Jacobs only placed 7th this year. Splits:Swim – 22:56 Bike – 2:08:04 Run – 1:24:11 Total – 3:58:51
