The book that always stood out to me in my 5th grade class was a boy and a girl on a flying horse, The Magician’s Nephew. But for some reason, I never read it...until now! Also I finally finished the whole series.
1. Digory calling his uncle selfish and a coward for tricking Polly on trying one of the rings
2. Aunt Letty not being startled when she sees Jadis... instead questioned who the HELL she is and straight up kicking her out until Jadis literally picked her up and threw her. Aunt Letty shaking it off as nothing had happened... total BADASS
3. The scene where Aslan is creating Narnia and when done saying “Narnia, awake. Love. Think. Speak...” I cried a little 😭 too beautiful plz don’t judge
4. All the chaos Jadis caused in London and Uncle Andrew thinking he has a shot with her 😅😅 saying even till the end of the book that she’s , “ a dem fine woman.”
5. I absolutely loved the concept of a place where you can easily transport from one world to another... the wood between the worlds like CSL that is a great ass concept!
6. Digory being a country boy and hating London. Also him caring for animals and calling out his uncle for using them as experiments
7. The cabby and his wife becoming king and queen of narnia and other lands
8. I really liked how csl wrote how the cabby spoke in his cockney accent and then fading away
10. Jadis is so freaking tall and is immensely strong like damm she almost broke digory and Polly
11. Digory planting the seed and it growing!! Not only that but moving when there’s no wind cuz the tree in Narnia is the one moving!
12. Digory literally amazed at how beautiful Jadis is and Polly straight up not liking her and being upfront about it
The story of the creation of Narnia, the wood between the worlds, the characters going from one place to another, make your choice stranger...Jadis backstory, the tree etc keep the reader engaged. This book shows that a big battle or war isn’t necessary well for me to keep the reader engaged. Honestly, I loved every moment of this book!!
