got fond of the idea that they have donkey heritage :) compliments the hardiness the apple family has, though you could just attribute that to them being earth ponies but whateverrr i just wanted to ummmmmmmmmmm give their designs SOMETHING i guess. used Apple Core background pony for granny smith's husband lowkey petered out designing him and granny smith lmao. was surprised to read that her parents' names are Pokey Oaks and Sew 'n' Sow (not super apple related which im headcanon-ing that she married into the family lol,,, also she lowkey look adopted,,,,,).

grand pear's wife I decided to just make an OC, i was kinda spiraling over what to do with the missing color schemes, seemed like red mane and red/orange coats were like,,,, annoyingly nonexistent everywhere haha. but then i ended up getting some inspiration from Oopsy Daisies (flower), which is like mostly yellows,,,,, and liked the name Oopsy Daisy Donkey for a donkey gal. :)

Smith Pie and Red Delicious are long time sweet hearts meeting at a very small age and never being seen apart since. It was no shock to anyone when the two got married, and even less so when Smith announced her pregnancy. Unfortunately it wasn't all sunshine and roses this was a seriously hard time for the family farm, the orchard was tiny. Only starting to seed in larger pastures. With the massive rivalry between the Apple and Pears being at an all time high. During Smith's pregnancy her beloved passed away, being the tragic victim of an accident. A dying and weak tree falling on him as the result of a particularly hard buck. Smith gave birth to twin colts, her bitterness towards Pear grew. Blaming him for her husband's death, accusing him of sabotage. While the police found no evidence of such Smith held fast to her belief as she began to raise her boys alone.

Pear Juice on the other hoof had a much rougher story. His wife, Pyrus White, was arranged, and while the two got along fine, there was no love. He still performed the motions of the patriarch, caring for the orchard, preparing for his future foals. Selling his goods. Putting food on the table. Anything he could do. He was never happy. It was from this unhappy unfulfilling life style that his anger and bitterness grew. Of which he took it all out on his neighbors the Apple family. He envied their happy family, and despite having two foals of his own. A daughter and younger son. He spent his entire time picking fights with the Apples. When Red Delicious died Pear was genuinely shocked, despite his anger he did not wish death on anyone. Smith's reaction however only caused more problems. He couldn't believe she'd think or say such horrible things about him. Shortly after his wife left him, leaving the foals with him. He became a single father overnight. The two bitter rivals attempted to raise their foals with the same hatred towards one another.

Pear Butter and Golden Delicious ended up being raised in the height of the Apple Pear feud, despite this the two never fell victim to their parents influence of hate. From even young tiny foals the two would hop fences to spend time with one another, always meeting in secret. Sneaking away during the night, using the chaos of family reunions to slip away, staying at one another's houses whenever the parents are away on business. At some point Golden's brother Ginger Gold found out about the two, long after things went from 'just friends' to 'budding romance', and he could not be happier. Ginger was always the happy go lucky type, innocently smiling along with his brother always at his side. It's because of this tight twin bond that he didn't need much convincing to keep the pair's secret. The same would not be said for Pear Butter's own younger brother Pear Tart. During one of Tart's visits he caught the two sneaking away, and allowing his father's bitterness to infect him he immediately ratted the two out. Both parents did not take this well at first, forbidding the two from ever seeing each other ever again as well as keeping them both under strict watch. Months passed, almost a year, after this when thanks to help from Ginger the two ran off together leaving both their families. This terrified the two single parents not knowing where their kids went to. Smith and Juice ended up searching for the pair together spending an entire day together, they actually ended up bonding somewhat the fear of losing more family making them forget about their silly feud. They eventually found the pair in a courthouse, right after signing the papers uniting the two in marriage combining the families. Smith ended up being moved by the two, and after the day she just had, seeing the good in their romance. Giving her son and new daughter in law her official stamp of approval. Juice unfortunately struggled to let go of his hatred and bitterness seeing this instead as him losing the last bit of family he had. So he decided to make that known to everyone declaring his daughter a Pear no longer, thus no daughter of his anymore, giving her fully to the Apples. The emotions this caused sent a ripple effect through the entire family, where it was supposed to unite them instead it divided them even further. Regardless of her bitter father Butter still tried to live the happiest life she could with her Golden, with her new family. Pear Butter and Golden Delicious ended up having three beautiful foals, a colt and two daughters, all beautiful mares. Orchard Blossom, Applejack, and Apple Bloom. Yet tragedy wasn't done with this family, one day very soon after their youngest was born the pair needed to make a delivery far away from home. Leaving Smith Pie to babysit. Pear Butter and Golden Delicious never made it home, their carriage has a horrible accident and ended up going off the road and off the side of a mountain. This final tragedy was the thing to at last make Pear Juice realize how much of a fool he was for holding onto his hate this whole time, unfortunately it was too late to repair anything for the two grandparents. Perhaps the new generation could build that bridge again.

Pear Tart had quite the different upbringing compared to his sister, early on he grew just as bitter as his father. Resentful towards his father for pushing their mother away leaving the siblings with a colt that never acted like he cared. Shortly after he gained his cutie mark allowing him some level of independence he moved away from his father and sister, and chose to live his mother and half brothers. Isolating himself from the country Pear half of his family, and instead doing everything he can to be accepted into the Pears of the city. He would occasionally go back to visit from Manehatten, however his attitude towards them never changed. He felt no affection towards his sister, instead seeing her as naive and stupid. So he had no regrets when he called her out for her sneaking off infront of their father. Leaving once again shortly thereafter, while he did show up to his sister's funeral and feigned the look of mournful sorrow that was expected of him. He truly felt no sympathy saw that instead his sister now had finally escaped the family like he had, and took a very small amount of glee at seeing his father now alone in a mess of his own making. Tart eventually took a mare of his own Orange Cutie the lovely couple even started a family of their own having four foals. The eldest son Pear Crisp, the eldest daughter Lemon zest, and the younger son and daughter Orange Tree and Babs Seed.

Ginger Gold's story is the simplest of the four, him and his brother grew up thick as thieves. The twins doing everything together, well almost everything. As stated previously he was in full support of his brother's love affair and even helped him out from time to time. Including letting his brother slip out to see and run away with Pear Butter after their parents found out. While the family grew he sought to start a family of his own. With the approval of Mama Smith he left Ponyville to set the Apple seeds elsewhere in Equestria. He eventually settled in a small new settlement of Appleussa. Becoming one of the central members of the town, heavily involved in the diplomacy of the natives of this corner of Equestria. A deal was eventually settled and the groups learned to live harmony together. During these events, he met what he called the mare of his dreams. A beautiful blue mare named Apple Cider. The pair settled down together and eventually had some little foals of their own identical twins, Brae Burn and Apple Seed.
