Ausirilon, you said, has a large agricultural industry. What crops and livestock are grown in that nation? Which are held to be quite valuable? What are the lives like of the people who work that land?

It’s primarily grains, rough equivalents of corn and wheat and the like. We get similar livestock in Ausirilon as we do here, with a couple of other things farmed like giant scorpions.

Life there is probably what you’d expect on a farm: mostly work, especially when it comes to the harvest, crops easily destroyed by drought or rain, kind of mundane but not necessarily dull routines. The communal attitude of Ausirilon is often helpful.

Among the nations (that you've planned out already, at least) of Malleon, are there certain foods or drinks that have ritual significance?

Yeah, there are some foods that can be given to gods as offering, though what kinds, and whether it’s the best of the crop or the leftovers, depends on which god and where.

Ausirilon has a thing about milk, for some reason.

Oh, and in Tezra food is separate to religion.

In Ausirilon, do they speak of holy weapons, artifacts of war and destruction?

Most destruction during the Shadow Wars was done directly by wizards and other kinds of mages, so mostly no.

Ausirilon magic doesn’t have the ability to imbue objects with particular qualities, the way Kno’orilk magic does.

have you pondered the nature of other nations beyond Kno'or and Ausirilon?

You may recall I have mentioned the big desert country to the Prk of Kno’or. This is the largest country on its continent, but there are several smaller countries scattered around it. I haven’t put a whole lot of thought into any of them so far, though.

Aside from the Grey Land, which is north of Ausirilon and was formerly populated by an elf-like people, the country is bordered by several small-to-medium sized ones to the south and east. Presumably with a range of similar but distinct cultures.

Tell us more, perhaps, of the Grey Land?

The Grey Lands are the country Fl’us of Ausirilon, who were their enemies in the Black War. The people there wielded a kind of dark and strange magic, laced with corruption and decay. As the war escalated and became more and more devastating, Ausirilon took to drastic measures. They turned the magic of the Grey Lands against them, essentially creating a magical nuke, an explosion carefully confined to match that nations borders. All that is left there now is mounds of ash and piles of dust, not even a breeze remains to stir it. But the land is not entirely empty, they say. In the distance, in the darkness, things are stirring, moving. Strange, great beasts, grey themselves amidst the desolation, the likes of which have never been seen before.

what's the state of the maritime industry in Ausirilon? (if i remember right Kno'or is landlocked but if Ausirilon is too then this will have been a very silly question :P)

You’ve got it backwards.

Ausirilon is (mostly) landlocked. Kno’or is not. Both countries border on the Boiling Sea. Kno’or doesn’t have much of a navy because it doesn’t need one, aside from maybe fishing and traveling up the coast to other countries.

Ausirilon… probably has a small fleet of ships used to defend their harbours. And fishing again, of course. If they were going to try to invade somewhere it’d be much easier to do so by land, anyway.

What can you tell us about personal ornamentation in Kno'or or Ausirilon? Jewelry or tattoos, stuff like that.

I coulda sworn I made a post about this before but I can’t find it.

Kno’orilk, particularly the richer ones, go all out with the gold, to levels that might be considered gaudy in other cultures. Gold earrings, bracelets, anklets, rings, piercings, the works.

Richer Tezrans also wear a fair amount of jewellery, but not nearly as much, and in…subtler tones. Ausirilons tend to idealise a simple and plain aesthetic so there’s not going to be a whole lot of ornamentation there, of any kind.

I haven’t given a lot of thought to tattoos because they kind of go against my aesthetic, but I can definitely see them existing in Kno’or. Quite possible even some magical ones, that are only visible under a certain light, or are animated. Possibly there is a trend for having tattoos in strange patterns, especially if they cover a large part of the body.
