it's actually kind of crazy that everyone is sorted into 2 arbitrary categories at birth that supposedly predicts every single one of ur interests, skills, and personality traits throughout the next 80-90 years. and if, at any point in your life, you decide you don't really like this chosen-for-you persona, and you feel bad about being forced to act like it anyway, this is actually a diagnosable mental disorder in the DSM and half the country kinda wants you to die for "having" it. like personally I don't think there's anything mysteriously wrong with a trans kid's brain just because some doctor wasn't able to fortune tell that kid's life by reading the shape of their junk like tea leaves. you know?

Reasons to keep writing

Someone will get super invested in your story and stay up all night reading it.

Someone will be inspired by your work, write something of their own, then sheepishly message you asking how to write as well as you do.

Someone will re-read your story every month or two because nothing captures the same vibe to them.

Someone will get excited every time they see your username pop up because there's a chance it means you wrote more.

Y'know that sense of empty sadness you get whenever you finish a REALLY good book/movie/etc? Someone's gonna feel that for your story.

Someone will draw fanart of your characters (or if you're writing fanfiction, fanart inspired by your interpretation of the source material).

Someone who loves your work will recommend it to a friend. Now another someone will fall in love with your writing.

Someone will want to reach through the screen and give your characters a hug SO BAD.

Someone will come back to your story whenever they're sad because it comforts them.

Because it makes you happy.
