Here the evergreen Pinus nigra (Austrian pine, black pine, Calabrian pine, Corsican pine, larch pine) has been trained as a large bonsai. The metal panels form an effective background to this specimen of a two-needled pine tree.

3. a specific color that gives you the ick?

PUCE. aka the evil form of mauve, aka reject paint. let me tell you a story. When i was in high school, I was in the drama club. I mainly acted, but I also helped with backstage stuff, especially set painting. me and my friends would mix paint as needed, and somehow we KEPT ENDING UP with this HORRIBLE QUEASY FLESHY MUSHY SHADE that we couldn't do ANYTHING with, and ASSIDUOUSLY RESISTED ANY attempts to change it into a more salvageable color. alice in wonderland had a lot of puce toadstools in the background, I regret to say.

Forming a major structural layer in the Japanese Garden of the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew is Pinus nigra (Austrian pine, black pine). This large evergreen tree develops an irregular, dense crown with dark green, paired needles.
