Writers who ARE or WANT TO BE professionally published, what sort of books make you feel the most encouraged about your own writing?
Good Concept // Well Written (genuinely good books)
Good Concept // Poorly Written (the idea was there)
Dull Concept // Well Written (it's the skill, not the idea)
Dull Concept // Poorly Written (you could do better than this!)

For me it's the ones that are interesting in concept but poor or mediocre in writing, because when I look at my own writing I'm proud of my ideas and know my writing must be at least as good as the writing in those published books, so surely I can get published if they did, right?
