Beta Readers Wanted!
I am nearing the end of my edits, so I wanted to put out a survey to gauge interest for this story! I plan to send the draft to readers by the end of the month, so this is a preliminary way for me to get organized and figure out how I'm going to conduct this process. If you're interested in helping me improve this story, please fill out the survey in the post (and its linked here), and I'll reach out to you shortly about logistics! This is the first time I've ever requested beta readers, so bear with me while I iron out the bumps. All the relevant information is in the survey, but I'll copy the important parts here too:
Runaways is ~35-40K words long.
Middle Grade Novel/YA Novella
Genre: Faerie Portal Fantasy Adventure/Rescue Misson. WIP Page
Themes of betrayal, forgiveness, and sisterly love
TW for mentions of child abuse, on-page mind control, and rats. Targeted for ages 10-14 so it is not overly graphic.
Expected reading period: Two months between Oct. 31 and Dec. 31 to finish the book and leave feedback.
I'm looking for developmental edits on character arcs, plot holes, if the world building makes sense, general story structure, and pacing, not grammar and flow issues on a line-by-line level.
