Thank you so much for asking!!!
I’m picking the vampires cause Cimori is one of the most developed empires in the series!!!
10. How are criminals punished?
It depends on the crime tbh. Usually its prison or handling oars on the government ships. Some gangs run wild and some are used as informants but most of criminals are caught because of the Ministry of Mind and since Elandre came to power the crime has gone down a lot.
19. What is the general lifestyle of the average person in your world?
For vampires, it’s mostly like ours. Their major trades are medicine, agriculture(although they get most of their food from humans in exchange for grain), orchards and farming. They have very fertile soil and good sunlight so most of their trades are dependent on plants. This means big farming lands but cramped living spaces cause of high population. The taxes are also high cause the govt especially Elandre’s made military participation mandatory. So the average citizen is either a farmer or a helper on a farm. Even in the cities some vampires depend on herbs they grow for income. Silk is another huge export. Weavers are high in number too.
64. What degree of control does the government have over the lives of the people?
In Cimori, a lot. The Ministry Of Mind monitors thoughts of every citizen constantly. Vampires are all connected telepathically so it is hard to hide stuff. They can isolate themselves easily but prolonged isolation also raises questions and the ministry is always watching. The social structures are based on land owning. More land you own, more power you have. The emperor owns a good 9000 of the 21000+ islands of Cimori. And the emperor has the power to distribute lands to people in some extreme cases.
