#TheWritersDilemma No.13 Are you a writer? Do you keep a diary? Do you find it a source of inspiration for story telling? When you get a story idea, do you instinctively choose to write in the first or third-person perspective? If not instinctive, how do you choose? I have never successfully kept a diary. By saying that I mean, there have been times in my life I tried to keep a diary, but I wasn't consistent, and I've misplaced every one I started! I even kept a collection of poetry in a book, and stupidly gave the object of my affections at the time to read and he destroyed it 🤤😭 However, through my blog I have a diary of sorts. But when it comes to telling stories, I don't naturally choose to write from a first-person perspective. Though it has its benefits, I've found it limiting, in that I am only able to capture the main character's thoughts and feelings clearly, while guessing at the rest. And I can't give a glimpse of what's going on when my main character isn't there, as I would, if writing in the third-person. So, most of my stories have been written from an Author (third-person) perspective, with only #Broken and #HeCheated coming from a Character (first-person) perspective. Due to the depth of emotions I was conveying in these stories, I felt the main characters needed to take full control in expressing themselves and relaying their own perspectives on what was happening to them. They were both very deep, emotional and powerful stories to narrate. So, which is your preference, why and how do you decide? . . #iWrite #iBlog #iReview #iPublish #iRead #iPromote #iLove #iCare #iShare #iLike #WritersOfInstagram #BloggersOfInstagram #AuthorsOfInstagram #ReadersOfInstagram #FictionWriters #WritersLife #BloggersLife #AmWriting #AmReading #Fiction #Narration #FirstPersonPerspective #ThirdPersonPerspective #AuthorPerspective #CharacterPerspective #Descriptive #Emotional
