I’m gonna start with the most serious one and get lighter from there, so feel free to skip the first few if you’d prefer :))

1. (CW: this is an injury story) I have one very, very fucked-up finger! I broke my left ring finger in 2018 (when I say I “broke” it, I mean it was a comminuted compound fracture, which basically means “really fucking broken”) and I had to have surgery to put the bone back together! there were some complications afterward and I ended up needing three more surgeries after that, and for most of that time my finger just kind of didn’t move (which is really inconvenient for, like, most daily activities. it’s my non-dominant hand, though, so it could have been worse). But after my last surgery and a ton of PT I can actually kind of move it! it doesn’t straighten all the way, my hand cramps up sometimes, my grip strength is pretty weak, and it def looks a little weird but honestly? that finger’s still attached and I’m pretty damn pleased w that. So if you look closely at any drawings I’ve done of myself and see a couple scars on my hand, that’s why! (also I’m sticking a picture of my old x-ray under the cut if you want to see, mostly bc I don’t usually get a chance to show off my depressingly expansive collection of hand x-rays.)

2. I play guitar! this is kind of a big deal for me, not because I’m particularly good at it (I’m not haha) but because, when I broke my finger, I pretty much had to accept that I might never play guitar again, and I’m really lucky that that ended up not being the case. 

3. I write a LOT, but I post/share basically none of it bc I never finish anything, ever. like I’ve been chipping away at the same story for years and the plot is hazy at best and half the characters are barely developed, but I’ve got a ridiculous number of isolated scenes that I thought of, wrote out, and never put into context. I’m not sure what to do with them at this point so they’re all just chilling in my drive for now

4. I wear a lot of friendship bracelets! I’m a summer camp counselor so they kind of just come with the territory, but I also just love them a lot!! I’ll probably never wear a wedding ring (I’m just uncomfy with anything that could lead to finger injuries, for obvious reasons) but I love the idea of wearing a bracelet or something instead! because if and when I get married it’ll be to my best friend and I am a huge fucking sap okay

5. I speak German and French! I love German a lot, and although I like French I also harbor a lot of contempt for it- I’ve been learning French for longer (I started when I was 10, I’m 21 now) so it’s kind of like the way you love a sibling and also find them unbelievably annoying, in part bc you know you’re stuck with them forever. my favorite German word is “verschlimmbessern” (to try to improve something, then end up making it worse) and my favorite French word is “efficace” (which means both “effective” and “efficient”, which makes it such an efficient word, and I just LOVE that)

I am going to assume this is supposed to be a bird and, y'know what, I think it's just chaotic enough to send me a drumstick that I know exactly how I am going to diagnose you! You're a Ronan Lynch stan, through and through! You've got the best taste, and you might be willing to forgive a lot of transgressions in the name of firm pecs and biceps! Which! I agree with, wholeheartedly! 🥰

Usually there’s an initial appointment (kind of like a meet and greet with your doctor) and then you schedule a physical while you’re there.

My insurance has a website where you can find doctors who're in the network, it even let you filter to see who's accepting new patients! Once I picked one from the list I called them up, verbally confirmed they're taking new patients, then asked to schedule an annual exam.

honestly.....i feel that, i should really get an overall check up but i have no doctor that's taking patients on if it's not sth dire

Yes! Ask if they’re taking new patients and then say that you’d like to schedule a physical!

Call them up and see if they take your insurance. If they do, schedule an appointment. Mine calls it a wellness appointment. Good luck!

I was tagged by the wonderful @behindtheatlantic to do this lil tag game!

Three ships: Ronan/Adam (obviously), Blue/Gansey(/Henry), Noah/Henry. At the end of the day I’m just here for the ot6 in any combination, but for the sake of making it to three I’m dividing them up. I’m partial to keeping Adam with Ronan and Blue with Gansey,  but any other characters added on (adam/ronan/gansey, blue/gansey/henry/noah, etc) is great too!

Last movie: I think it might have been Enola Holmes? I honestly can’t remember, I don’t watch movies very much bc they’re just so long and my brain can’t be bothered to pay attention

Last song I listened to: There’s Still a Light in the House by Valley. it’s a great song but I haven’t listened to it in ages, it was on my running playlist last summer so I kind of over-listened to it back then, but I’m enjoying it again now :)

Show I'm currently watching: nothing, really? I’ve been watching Taskmaster as the new episodes get uploaded, but that’s about it! (if you haven’t watched Taskmaster, you NEED to watch it. it’s on youtube and it’s genuinely the funniest thing I’ve seen in ages)

Book I'm currently reading: I don’t have the attention span to read actual books most of the time (”actual books”= reading with your eyeballs, as opposed to listening to audiobooks) so I’m saving up my eyeball-reading energy for when my copy of mi arrives!!

Currently craving: spending time around people my age, tbh. I’ve been living with my parents since lockdown started and I’m so sick of hearing about Boring Grown-Up Things all the time (the neighbor’s garden, the car, remodelling the kitchen, whatever woodworking youtuber my dad’s into atm). Also just hanging out irl and being able to lean all over each other, I’m a very cuddly person and I really miss that kind of thing :((

Because I am nothing If not predictable—Adrian’s fight?

(brief overview of this verse here!)

hehehe this is one of my favorite things I’ve written for these guys :)) I’m planning on posting the full scene once I get a chance to clean it up more!

so context: Adrian’s normally not very aggressive, he doesn’t exactly go looking for fights. he’s got a bit of a temper but that normally comes through in heated arguments more than physical fights. I honestly haven’t worked out what would be bad enough to get Adrian to throw a punch, but true to form I just skipped context and got straight to the comfort part (Adrian shows up at Leah’s house and she patches him up). at this point Leah and Adrian are good friends but they’re not dating yet.

When Leah turned to reach for a paper towel, Adrian was looking at her, his expression remote and impossible to read. His brow was furrowed and there was something smaller about him just then. This wasn’t Adrian Mendez, golden boy, or Adrian Mendez, high-flying powerhouse of a young man. This was just… Adrian, a boy whose world had tilted sideways, and who was twisting underwater and trying to figure out which way was up. This Adrian didn’t have the silvery sheen of effervescent charm to reflect exactly what people wanted him to be. This was what he looked like when no one was watching, a mirror in an empty room.

“I’m trying to figure out if you’re mad at me.”

Leah let out a soft laugh. “No, I’m not.”

“I punched someone, though.” Adrian was frowning just a little- like he didn’t quite see how that added up.

“Yeah,” Leah agreed, “But from what you've said, the guy kind of deserved it. Besides, I honestly don’t think it should be my job to tell you what you should or shouldn’t feel bad about.”

Pushing a stray curl out of the way with her wrist, Leah sat down in front of Adrian, close enough that their knees were touching.

“Right now, all I care about is making sure you’re okay. Everything else can wait until morning.”

It wasn’t unpleasant, it was just… a lot. A lot to be cared for like this, like he deserved this kind of gentleness. To be somewhere that was quiet and safe, to know that for once, he didn’t have to keep up the composure he’d maintained for so long. Somehow, Leah had worked out the truth- that Adrian had been running for so long that he didn’t know how to stop. 

Almost absentmindedly, Leah raised his hand to her lips and kissed the backs of Adrian’s bony fingers. It was so tender and sincere it made his chest ache.

10 Aesthetic: friendship bracelets, flannel, a first-aid kit in a backpack, sandals for like 8 months out of the year. chambray shirts, "where did this bruise come from?", hair tired back with a piece of string, linking pinkies on the ride home. "sorry, what was that?", tie-dyed shirts, laughing hard for any reason at all. corduroys, smudged mascara, short nails and calluses, paint smudges and scribbled notes on arms. 

11 Home aesthetic: light and airy and eclectic. scrubbed wooden floors, rag rugs, simple no-frills furniture with lots of funky pillows and throws. handmade quilts, maps and postcards and paintings on the walls, the scent of fresh air mingled with dust, lots of books in odd places. everything a little worn- scuffed or fraying or paint-stained- but well-loved.

12 Favorite song: I mean I don’t have just one ofc, but Warmth by Bastille has been a consistent favorite for a while now! Way Less Sad by AJR has also been a certifiable jam this past week

13 Favorite animal sounds: the vocalizations of the prehensile-tailed porcupine, no I will not explain. also my cat does this really precious whisper-meow which I love sm

14 What’s one thing you’ll admit to tumblr and not in real life? I mean the amount of fan art I make isn’t something I go out of my way to talk about irl, like I’m not embarrassed about it but I don’t tend to bring it up unless it’s relevant. also the Yearning™️, I def try to keep that on the dl in real life.
