after moths of work, the first pages of Mr. and Mrs. Buccaneer are live on AO3 and facampbell.com!
@baggebythesea and I have been working crazy hard to make this webcomic for the @spopbigbang, and while i'm a touch late i think i can be forgiven
In order to undercover a secret pirate plot, Bow and Adora go undercover in Seaworthy as a married couple. There will be danger. There will be intrigue. There will absolutely be shenanigans. But anything is possible with the power of friendship.
It's got an exploration of platonic bonds, lots of pirates, and an excuse for me to draw beefy dudes getting their asses kicked by swashbuckling lesbians and bisexual archers. *ahem* uh the comic is updating monthly, so keep an eye out in early june for the next chunk of pages!

Catgrrls to the Front! by Maddison Stoff
⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was fun with a lovely found family vibe and I really loved the android they met towards the end, but I was a bit confused by the POV and it felt like a very complex world to build a short story in with very little information.
The Underside of a Boat is the Part That Touches the Water by Madison Godfrey

While beautifully written, I’ll admit to being confused for this entire story. I’m still not quite sure what was going on. But the poetry and the ebb and flow between Ann and Belly was beautiful.
An Ocean Bloom by Michael Earp
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a gorgeous story with a great found family, some really interesting magical creatures, and a somewhat botched but exciting heist. I loved every moment of it and wish there was more!
Hunger by Vika Mana

This was an excellent story of survival and Indigenous history, strength and endurance. Mina, Gracie and all their loved ones were excellent characters and I really loved their uprising.
Baby Makes Three by Mia Nie

Honestly there wasn’t enough in this comic strip. Annoying characters, zero plot, and it didn’t feel aimed at YA audiences at all.
What Are False Stars to a God? by Alexander Te Pohe
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was an incredible short story! Clem, Oliver and Oriana were all such great characters and the plot with gods and dragons and stars was absolutely fascinating.
Changelings by Alison Evans

Ugh this really hit me in the feels. I loved how relatable this felt, how real and grounded this felt compared to the others, even though there were aliens. All the 90s references made me feel nostalgic for a time I was honestly too young for. All of it was just so great.
