Loving Toph wasn't so quite easy.

Oh how many nights you spent admiring her, struggling to keep quiet. She was everything, from the way she talked to how she treated you… every night and day, you ached for me, missed, wanted her. Whenever she pulled away it made your heart ache, how can anyone be this beautiful, so strong… So perfect.

The way the light flushed her skin, her big muscles, how they flexed whenever you clinged onto her.

The river flows gently, the sound of water splashing as it goes on and on, birds chirp, and you stand there in thought, basket in your hand. You were supposed to grab some berries but instead got lost in thought. The grip on the basket tightens,your breath hitching as you watch the water. You slowly drop into your knees, sighing, your heart is already beating faster, why does she affect you so much? The basket is long forgotten, skipped to the side. You swallow, itching towards the river and put your hands in it, hoping the coldness might revive you.

“Oh for goodness sake, what are you doing?” A women's voice goes by, her feet tapping on the ground,arms crossed before going and picking up the basket, touching the insides then the dirt.

“You got nothin’ here…’ she grumbles, raising an eyebrow, her body turning to yours again.

“You want help?” Toph asks, placing a hand on her hip.

You chuckle, shaking your head, getting away from the water and wiping the liquid from your hands.

“Toph, you're blind–”

“I know, I was just joking idiot.” She smirks, taking a few steps forward and yanking your hand, letting the touch the ground again, her cloth lightly tapping the water off.

You swallow, stay silent and watch her dry you off, she notices.

“Still, why haven't you picked anything?” She resumes, letting go of your hand which you quickly get a hold of, surprising her.

“Uhm, it's just, there weren't any berries..” Your voice withers and she sighs, pulling you closer, her voice a tad deeper.

“I know you're lying to me sweetcheeks…” she exposes, her gaze on your lips, even though blind, she has memorized your face when you were sleeping. The grip on your hand tightens, her breath intertwined with yours.

“Well…” you start but she cuts you off.

“Whatever,I don't really care”

The earthbender leaves your hand, takes the basket and motions you to follow her.

“The others went out and you need to help me with some wood. Zuko already gave me logs, just have to split em open”

The woman explains, cracking her fingers, a smile on her face. She clears her throat, letting you take her hand in yours again.

“And what do I need to do?” You ask.

“Just… place the logs where I tell you.”

“Okay.”

The two of you reach the camp where the gaang us situated. Toph tells you where and how she'll break the logs, tossing the basket away in a tent and walking towards the wood.

And so, you do as she tells you.

“Over here… okay, a bit to the right, no, no my right–yeah, there we go, now move along pips, don't let me break you in half.”

Sheesh you wish. You groan, placing one log in the middle then two besides it. Once she starts to get ready, you quickly move out of the way, unaware of what she wants to do.

Loud crash emerges, sounds of rocks and wood breaking filling the earth, interesting, she's using her earthbending.

It goes on like that for a bit, subsequently it turned you from helping to not doing anything, the earthbender sprung the logs upwards and cracked them in the air.

Sighing, in the background Toph's laughter, you sit on the log Sokka made for you to rest. Drifting away, you shake your thoughts away, looking at the forest.

“Oh I found Berries! ” You exclaim, head turning back to Toph who's too immersed in her… thing.

You groan, rolling your eyes, getting up from. The log and walking to the fruits, a soft smile on your face. You plop down, taking one by one and placing them in your hand as they were only a few.

The crashing sounds stop abruptly, hearing that, you turn around only to be met by a very hot, warm, breathtaking Toph.

“Shit, it's too hot to be doing this… uh, you said you found something, yeah? What it is?” She asks, coming closer to her, muscles extra pump, your gaze not hiding anything and just looking at her…not so respectfully.

“Berries..” You mutter, looking at her, not moving an inch.

She wipes her forehead,tugging you closer by your waist, a few berries spilling from your hand in the process, but you didn't care,you only cared about how close she was, your bodies practically touching.

You swallow, and she raises an eyebrow at your heartbeat and vibrations.

“...Give me some” she asks, tugging you closer, making your breath hitch.

You don't move, you can't, you could kiss her, you could do anything. This wasn't helping with your feelings at all.

“Hello? Are you deaf or–”

“I love you.”

The earthbender freezes,eyes widen, she doesn't look like she's breathing.

The birds chirp in the background, soft leaves flutter, the grass seemingly brighter.

You blink, noticing how her ears begin to flush a pink hue. Her breath hitches, and she turns her head away, hiding,long black hair tied up, a bit disheveled.

Both of you stay still, your fingers tracing her jaw, gaze not leaving her face.

“I love you.” You repeat again, and she reddens, finally letting out a soft puff.

Your eyes squint lightly, a small smile appearing on your face, pushing closer until your chest touches her.

“Toopphh… I love you.” You reply again, tilting your head to the side, her hand gripping your waist tighter.

Unable to say anything, the blind girl tilts her head towards yours finally.

“I didn't think you'd make me this flustered...mmh..” she whispers, looking through you, like she's talking to herself, throat dry, before answering you.

“I.. I know that sweetheart...”

Your eyebrows raise, she knew? Then why didn't she say anything? Doesn't she like you back? What's with these reactions?

“And..?” you ask, leaning closer if possible.

The blind girl swallows, trying to appear nonchalant.

“Love you too..” Toph mumbles.

“What?”

“Love… mhg..” Her voice dies down once more.

“...??”

“Ugh, so annoying!”

Her lips crash onto yours, aggressively, her hand tugging on the clothes situated on your waist, her other hand coming to your cheek.

“There, happy?” She asks, and you beam with joy, pampering her with kisses, face, body, shoulders, you didn't miss a spot.

“Oh Toph, why would you make me wait this long? I love you so much–” you breathe your words by kissing her again, then pulling away, saying “I love you” once more, repeating the process a few more times before she stops you, cheeks pink and lips red, birds chirping louder.

“I love you..” You mutter, looking at her blind eyes, releasing you squished the berries you had stored into your hand.

Toph swallows, watching you grumble, her touch coming onto your wrist, pulling the palm towards her and taking a big lick from it, her breath coming in hot.

You stutter, not only from the sigh but because she instantly kisses you right after, removing the mess the berries made from your hand with her fingers as she captured your lips and tossing it away. The sweet aroma of the fruit balancing on each other's tongues, your arms wrapped around her neck, eyes closed, enjoying the taste.

She pulls away, a string of saliva breaking, both of your bodies connected, her tapped in muscles enveloping you into a hug, lightly lifting you off your feet, her breath fiddling on your neck.

You hug her back immediately, kissing her head and smiling, flushed.

“I love you Toph.” You say once more whilst the woman's head tips towards yours, peeking your lips then sighing, relaxing completely into your arms.

“And I'll love your forever.”
