But have any of you stopped to think how chilling this actually is? 

It’s easy to joke about Zuko’s failures, but could you imagine how different his life would have been if he succeeded? Especially with his final attempt to secure his father’s approval. 

After the first time he tried to capture the Avatar his attempts got more underhanded and desperate until the point where even Iroh wouldn’t put up with it anymore. 

If Zuko had succeeded at any of his attempts to capture the Avatar after his first attempt things would have been significantly worse for him in the long run. 

It ends up being “Ok” that he hired Combustion Guy because it provided a catalyst he could use to show Gaang that he’d changed and to give Gaang and opportunity to teach radical forgiveness, but if combustion man had succeeded in either attempt, can you imagine?
