Avenge Thy Brother is my upcoming 8th Wattpad story. It is a direct sequel to my 6th Wattpad story, Not My Brother’s Keeper. This action-packed thriller picks up where NMBK left off and begins with a bang that causes one effect after another. Our protagonist Cameron finds himself in a world of danger where no one is safe, not even those who survived the murderous network before. To finally bring an end to the network, Cameron must rely on his improved instincts and FBI training; all the while keeping more gay black men from losing their lives.

Here’s 12 unknown (some may be already known depending on how you read and/or interpreted the story) facts about Avenge Thy Brother:
The story begins immediately where Not My Brother’s Keeper ended which showed Cameron, now an FBI agent, going into a federal maximum-security prison to gain information from Dr. Wesley Gilmore. What’s not shown in the final chapter of Not My Brother’s Keeper is that Cameron was being followed the entire time and someone in his department (later known as the mole) had organized a plan to infiltrate the prison while Cameron is there. With the story being told in first person, I decided not to bring up the mole until after the first chapter.
As with Not My Brother’s Keeper, each chapter’s title consists only of two words that somewhat sum up the chapter.
Originally, I wanted all four of the victims of the network to be found murdered to keep the case cold for a longer period of time. However, when I began writing, I realized there had to be some hope for Cameron to keep going. That’s what led me to connect one of the missing men to someone controlling the network keeping the missing man alive.
Both COWO and Project Eradication were secret societies with their own respective division and operations all around the country. Some members within the societies are aware of one another but they do not know each and every move that the other is going to make; hence, Evan Murphy’s role in both organizations was crucial for him and the organizations.
I decided to make the biggest villains in this story women because I wanted to show that women, too, can be just as homophobic and bigoted as men. While Karen’s homophobia is fueled by mental illness, Michele Whitlock’s is fueled by pure hatred.
The decision to make Agent Fairbanks the mole came to me as I was writing the first chapter. He’s one of the first agents on the scene at the prison and is the person who reveals to Cameron that his recording is gone. In reality, he’s the person who has stolen the tape without anyone noticing.
Throughout the story, I wrote scenes involving Byron in a way where you couldn’t tell if he was truly on Cameron’s side or if he was pretending to be. I did this on purpose to add to the feeling of paranoia, but by the end of the story you know he truly loves Cameron and was truly concerned for Cameron’s well-being.
Both Not My Brother’s Keeper and Avenge Thy Brother take place between early 2014 and late 2019; spanning five years.
I considered both Masters of Deception and Not My Brother’s Keeper II: Avenge Thy Brother as possible titles for this story. I eventually settled on Avenge Thy Brother.
I originally planned for Byron to be shot during a sting operation not related to Cameron’s case. Following Byron’s hospitalization, Karen asks Cameron where to send flowers. When in attempt is made to kill Byron in the hospital, Cameron realizes Karen had asked him earlier which hospital Byron was in and puts it together that she’s involved with the network. By the time I began writing the story, I decided to scrap the idea and have Cameron slowly come to the realization that Karen is involved.
Near the end of the story, a janitor with the infinity tattoo seen on many COWO members is caught by Cameron. I included this character for two reasons: (1) to show that there were people working in the courthouse involved with the organization and a possible coverup to ensure Michele is found not guilty and (2) to stall Cameron just enough so that the assassination of Michele can happen without Cameron intervening.
The original ending of the story in my outline was the scene where Michele is shot on the steps of the federal court. However, as I got deeper into writing the story, I decided to have the story end with Cameron finally catching up to Francine and putting an end to COWO, the organization that put Tommy in the crosshairs of Project Eradication and its partner, Kappa Sigma Phi.
Will this series become a trilogy or is "Avenge Thy Brother" the last book in this installment?
Lastly, I'm ready for another book 😫 when should we expect the next masterpiece?
Avenge Thy Brother is the only sequel to Not My Brother’s Keeper, there won’t be another. I’d already decided there would be a sequel to NMBK because of how I ended that story but at the same time, I decided it wouldn’t continue past the sequel.
I haven’t decided when I’ll begin teasing for my next Wattpad story but when I do, Tumblr & Twitter will be the first places I post teasers so be on the lookout!
Do you believe organizations like Cowo really exist?
Warning: This post contains plot spoilers so DO NOT READ THIS if you haven’t read the story
Secret organizations? Yes. Secret organizations that promote a “gay agenda?” No. COWO aka Changing Our World Order is 100% fake and created by my imagination. I do not believe there are organizations out there that force gay images into TV & movies or force gay friendly politicians to the forefront.
Do you think you will ever do a prequel to this story showing Tommy's last days?
That’s an interesting idea but no, I have no plans to do a prequel. I can understand why someone would want to see Tommy’s last days; but for me, it was always important to show who Tommy was through the people who knew him, like Cameron and Stephon. It’s closer to the reality of what would happen if someone you knew personally was killed and their loved ones were here to talk about who that person was.
Why did you choose "Avenge The Brother" as the title?
I was going to name the story either Masters of Deception or Not My Brother’s Keeper II: Avenge Thy Brother, and since the second idea sounded better to me I picked that one but shortened it to just Avenge Thy Brother.
