Growing up, the world wasn’t nearly as accepting as it was today. Natasha had spent so many years hiding herself under layers of cover identities that she sometimes found she was losing who she really was. Sometimes that’s just what she wanted. 

Everything about pride made her happy, she loved to see the joy and acceptance in everyone’s faces. But the entire event made her feel like she had to put her true self on display, and that was something she had to try so hard to do. The hardest part was pulling apart the layers to how she felt, instead of how the Red Room told her she should feel. Her hands had shaken that morning when pulling away the back to both the demi and pan flag temporary tattoos she had put on her shoulders. This was it, for the first time this was the most honest she would ever be with the world. 

Taking a deep breath, she had entered the festivities. “I need a drink,” she mumbled to no one in particular, even though alcohol never affected her anyways.

      to merely conclude that the stirs and turns of events have been mind-blogging would a humongous understatement --- not to say that she’s disliking the parade, nope! it’s the total opposite and she’s devouring it with much fervor. it’s not at all an everyday occurence to witness this much liveliness, after being stacked with ceaseless socks of forsaking and rejection throughout her life to ultimately and openly be able to be proud of who she is as well seeing a huge chunk of people do the same exhilarates her --- it’s just that there are portions within aubrey that haven’t gotten themselves accustomed to all the busy, boisterous unfoldings.

   she ambles herself towards the smaller crowds, into this corner with its good ass music and its couples and non-couples waltzing and relishing each other to no end ; a marvelous sight, really. her hand slings to smoothen down the disheveled hair and she grins, orders herself a shot of chivas and cranes neck in the direction of the person beside her. “happy pride,” she slurs, let’s just say she’s gotten herself a few drinks prior to this. “blink if you want to go up there with lil’ ol’ moi an’ rock our booties off.”

as (hopefully) most of you know, june is pride month !! it’s a time for members of the LGBTQ+ community to feel safe, loved, appreciated, and proud.  so what better way to end the month, celebrate our characters, and finish up a great first week of avengingrp than a pride event?

so we’ll be having our first event from 12pm EST June 30 - 12:00pm EST July 1.

while the event in real time takes place over a day and a half, the event in terms of RP time will last for about 24 hours.  we just want to make sure that everyone has a chance to participate, regardless of timezone.

Wait, what’s happening ??

for the first half of the event, there will be a good ol’ fashioned pride parade going on.  it’s a fun little day time event where everyone can don their colors, interact with each other, and have some kid friendly fun.  

the second half is a little more wild.  superhumans have coopted xavier’s mansion for the evening, and after the sun goes down, the music starts!  this is a very low key event.  we want you guys to have fun, and we want a way to honor pride month in our rp.  so there’s no big requirements from you; no major plotting that needs to be done.  

just have fun, kiss some cute people (if that’s your thing), and celebrate yourselves !!

My character’s straight !! Can I still participate ??

hell yeah, you can.  just like sometimes rps do a christmas event or a halloween event, your character doesn’t have to personally celebrate that holiday to have some fun.  your character (and you!) is welcome to come, have fun, and support their friends & family.  allies are welcome, definitely.

Say, do I get anything out of this ??

other than a good time?  actually, if you send your character and their sexuality/identity to the main, admin sav will make you a cute little pride icon to use for the event/however long you want, really.  it’s a small thing, but just another little way to say thank you to you talented individuals who make this rp so much fun.
