Madeline Jackson, better known as Maddy is the youngest member of the cast, as well as the shortest. She is blind and wears sunglasses for light sensitivity.
Avery Jackson, the resident grump, is notably the only character in the series with a particularly thick accent. He speaks with a cockney accent due to his birthplace in the east of the UK.

Maddy is eight years old and resembles a typical child. She has peachy skin, sparse freckles, and chestnut-colored hair. She is also blind - though typically wearing sunglasses to hide this, her eyes are a milky white. She wears a pink bow in her hair, and is most often seen with a blue t-shirt with a bunny decal, purple shorts, white socks, and blue moccasin slippers. In terms of personality, Maddy is chipper, excitable, and curious of the world around her. Like most children, however, she easily gets frustrated and lacks a full understanding of the world around her. This combined with her disability and Avery's over-protection causes her to act out in frustration often, feeling trapped and restricted in her own limited world. By extension, she develops very close bonds with James and Iggy, who grant her the freedom and world experiences she craves.
Avery is one of the shorter men of the house at 5'9", with only Terry and Jasper being shorter. He has peachy skin and thick dark brown-red hair, and a blue eye. His right eye has an eyepatch due to being lose in an abuse injury as a teenager at the hands of his mother. He is also missing several permanent teeth from fights at school. He wears a blueish shirt, sometimes with a black vest, jeans, and black shoes. His hair is also coiffed, as opposed to shaggy like most OCs tend to be. In terms of personality, Avery internalized his traumas in the form of unchecked aggression and self-loathing. Despite this, he is incredibly protective of Maddy and tries to be helpful around the house in ways he can. He is, notably, the only character who doesn't have a bedroom, sleeping on the couch instead.
Trivia
Maddy's name was inspired by the character Madeline from the Madeline book series.
She is a Leo.
She is 4'5", making her somewhat short for an 8 year old.
Her favorite food is almonds and her favorite drink is cranberry juice.
She loves Christmas and views it the best time of year. She also adores Christmas music.
She is not technically fully blind, and can still see light. This is why she wears sunglasses.
Outside of the established story, she gets a service dog upon turning 12. The dog is a brown husky named Almond.'
Avery's name brings him great annoyance, as it's more commonly a female name and a reminder that his mother wanted a girl.
He is a Virgo.
His favorite foods are typical English treats like crumpets, steak and kidney pie, fish and chips, etc. He also loves tea.
While not necessarily proud of his heritage, Avery gets incredibly irritated at people who equate his screwed up teeth as evidence of the 'british people have bad teeth' stereotype.
He also similarly gets angry at people who claim British food isn't delicious.
He is the only Misfit who doesn't enjoy listening to music of any kind.
He is also the only Misfit who can drive and who owns a car (a used jalopy he buys at some point in the story).
