Akaza doesn’t kill women is due to an unconscious force drawing the line there, cause I believe Akaza had barely made self aware talks with himself.
Have he ever questioned why he is a demon? has he ever been a human? Why he is obeying Muzan’s orders? Why doesn’t he like him? Why doesn’t he hate him? And more importantly why doesn’t he kill women?
Although mind you, there could’ve been a scene of a woman crying and kneeling in pool of blood of samurais/males and Akaza is standing at her side, staring at the void as his arms doesn’t seem to move at her. He leaves.
Every demon comes with flaws, and perhaps Muzan’s tolerance towards Akaza unconscious moto is a fact to accept. As it doesn’t seem threatening, maybe a little annoying to his demons duties.
What occupies Akaza’s mind is the goal of becoming the strongest among demons. His mind could be replaying all his fights with strong Hashiras, analyzing their offense moves and tricks. Imo demons could defeat humans easily, if it weren’t for their sheer of human traits left within them. So with Akaza’s lots of advantages, he brings himself down to the level of human’s swordsman to toy and kill. He decides he enjoys it too.
Maybe it’s the only self cautious decision he made, after his bloodbattles with Kokushibo, who was a demon slayer, he learned something or two about the “ selfless state” ( ironic naming from a demon) which could be achieved while training with someone Akaza tolerates and for once doesn’t want to kill.
