There is something mesmerising in the embers of a dying flame. She was like a fire, beautiful and fierce in her youth but as her years grew on she never lost that beauty, It just wasn’t as striking. Not incandescent, pronounced or stunning, but still beautiful, and in a way more deadly. Because the woman of embers drew me in… And I got burnt.

And I finally understood why they call it “falling in love”, because I had no control. I wasn’t stepping, or running or even jumping in love. I was falling… For you.

When I look at you time doesn’t stand still, it moves too quickly.

I wish someone had told me about the loneliness that surrounds love, because if they had, I would have never let myself fall for you.

I gave her everything but time, which is why we drifted apart, and why I never saw it coming.

Hey l love your poetry ❤️. Are their any other blogs similar to yours/you really like that you could recommend?
thank you!! i don’t personally follow too many writers, but one i do follow is @excerptsofstories they have so much writing and they post nearly every day or so.
i also follow the tag #excerptsfromabookillneverwrite and blogs like @@nosebleedclub, @excerptfromabookyoullneverwrite , and @excerptsfromabook which will reblog a variety of people’s writing which allows me to read all different kinds of pieces (it’s actually how a few of mine got popular).
i hope this helps! 💖
