because that tagged-by-some-random-porn incident got me so worked up, the following night I had a really fun and kinda nerve-racking dream. I've had dreams like this and most were turned into short stories or unfinished novels. Some were still written in my idea notebook.
I'm posting this because y'all might find inspiration in the idea. Hear me out, the story's actually lit as heck!!!
Protag was stuck in traffic, on a motorcycle, when he was "tagged". I call it Tag because it was what my dream told me and it involved phones. The tag was like a black lump; it looks organic and looks more like a hairy tumor that has a life of its own. Not a parasite though. So when you're tagged, it's supposed to explode and corrupt you within a given time limit. But Protag's tag didn't turn him into a corrupted zombie. His phone notified him that he has become an illegible target by people similar to him, the survivors of the tag. They have to find him, chase him and focus their phones on him and he'll explode, as if shot by some high powered gun. Of course he can do the same too. He has equal rights and privilege to pursue and kill these survivors first.
So because he got in a car chase with so many people trying to kill him with their phones, he got home late and for some reason his mother died. I dunno why after this scene he's already in a beach resort. Maybe because during the day I was always asking people to go with me to the beach because the sun and the sky are so pretty(but bawal). So anyway, Protag really wanted to swim but the beach was surrounded by thick, high walls(coz here we're "forbidden" to go to the beach or something. MGCQ).
Protag insisted on opening the gate but when he reached the beach, the "corrupted" were approaching in a hoard, chasing four huge trucks filled with evacuees. He was quick to know that it's dangerous and managed to convince a father and daughter(toddler) to get away. He ended up helping these two but for some reason, they had to enter a makipot na eskinita in a squatters' area scene to get to their house. I guess the goal was to retrieve the kid's stuff and the father's cellphone.
Phones here are vital because these things can serve as your weapon. Hmm. Maybe those corrupted didn't have their phones on them when they were tagged, or maybe it depends on the phone to take the "damage of explosion". But you gotta have your phone. (Ehem I'm looking at you, Nerve.) Although you can also die because of your phone. One thing's for sure, without it you don't stand a chance.
So anyway, they managed to hide and evade people looking for "them" but really they were just tagged pursuers searching for Protag to bust his head. He kinda reached a higher level so he's priority. Duh. Protag.
Protag sorta forgot about the significance of surviving the "tagged chase" because he was preoccupied with his mother's death.
He managed to secure places for him and the two extras in one of the trucks and once they were on the move, he realized he'd gone up to the top of surviving tagged and even survived several days when other people immediately died right away. So he was safely tucked away in the middle of the people, blending in. Pursuers detected him in one of the trucks but they needed to focus their phones on a specific person to effectively make the kill.
So they trailed the trucks, occasionally raising their phones to scan faces and Protag would duck and move around, crouching and crawling just to hide his head.
Protag revealed to the father that he'd survived the tagging so he might find a way to successfully help them as well.
I forgot what made him so confident but that scene was badass in my dream. Maybe he said that among the passengers of the trucks, he's the only one conveniently equipped with a way to kill the pursuers.
My goodness everything was so awesome but I can't extract the scenes accurately. Huhu. Anyway, feel free to use the plot.
