What’s the best self- help book you’ve read? ⁣ ⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣I know I talk about Murakami a lot, but there is a different, yet very crucial side to my desire for his writing and that’s the fact that he was a runner!⁣ ⁣ Before I read this book I was a totally inactive person but reading Murakami’s words about how he adored running made me want to become a runner! I started getting more active day by day and I still am! Is anyone Haruki Murakami fan? As a Japan fanatic, I somehow managed to avoid reading Murakami's novels until my contemporary Japanese literature class last semester. 😱 ... And let me say A Wild Sheep Chase messed with my mind SO MUCH. Few books have felt so wibbly-wobbly and timey-wimey. My entire class was just one massive conglomeration of absolute confusion after reading this book. It's technically in the Trilogy of the Rat series, but can be read independently. It follows this narrator who goes on a journey both to find his friend, Rat, and to find a sheep with a star-shaped birthmark that "The Boss," a prominent figure on the political and economic scene of Japan wants found before he dies. So, the narrator and his girlfriend set off on what might be a literal wild sheep chase. #QOTD : I have a few for you guys today! Have you/do you read contemporary Japanese lit or Murakami? If so, what's your favourite? What books have you read that have completely messed with your mind?
