Chapter 1: Human Beings in a mob

YEAR: 2091

Location: Aurelia Sector. U.S.S ATELIUS (Galactic Defense Force Cruiser)

Since 2085, humanity left Earth to find more materials even going beyond our solar system for the first time in centuries to find other planets to settle in. Maybe, just maybe we could find a better Earth. However, some of the GDF cruisers encountered alien life. Some peaceful and some violent. Even as time passed in 2091. The U.S.S ATELIUS faced an uprising from the people after living conditions were shitty, possible corruption, and even no supplies were even coming. It was survival of the fittest in the ATELIUS.

This uprising began in 2089 when a rebellion called the Black Death Insurgency or “The Order.” It was basically a few Earth born people who led small groups from the Hangar to the Bridge. However, three people got very far and could be the smallest group ever. They were

James Willow

Aeliah Kosovo

and

K3NNTH-11201.

James was in the security room watching the CCTV footage of both corrupt GDF soldiers injuring or killing anyone who was part of the resistance struggling to get to the hangar. The sight of this caused the homunculus to watch in horror. Mothers, Fathers, New and Old just dying everywhere.

“You could’ve helped them you fool…” a voice in James’ mind said

“You are Nothing…” another said

“Just like in Ishvala….” Multiple voices said

“Big Brother James!!!” Aria’s voice screamed in the void that is James’ mind.

Finally, James gave in to his and his breathing turned into distorted growls of intense anger his eyes turned black with green dots to replace it. His body began to warp and shift into something so monstrous and grotesque. His hair grew to the length of a mane, his face became, that of a Dobermans snout and his eyes shifted as well into something monstrous as well. His entire body changed into a dark green almost standing in the stance of a Lycan. This was not James anymore… this was the BERSERKER.

“JAMES, WE NEED HELP WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!?!?!” Aeliah shouted through James’ communicator causing the Berserker to release a roar and run off to their position.

At K3N’s (Ken’s) and Aeliah’s position the two freedom fighters were under heavy fire from the Elite GDF Soldiers who are currently protecting the Bridge. The whizzing of bullets and clanking of the bullets hitting nothing but metal.

“SHIT!” Ken exclaimed throwing a grenade back at a GDF soldier. “Aeliah! What’s taking James so long to get here!” he said towards his comrade.

“I don’t know! All James said was I need to look at the CCTV cameras quickly” Aeliah replied shooting her pistol at the GDF soldiers and taking cover quickly.

“Well he’s sure taking his sweet time!” Ken said in a sarcastic tone.

The intense firefight came to an immediate halt when they heard a loud roar echoing through the entire hallway.

“What the hell was that” A GDF Soldier said

“Hun, I really don’t know…” Aeliah replied to the GDF soldier.

“Everyone…my scanners sense something coming. and it’s coming fast.” Ken said checking his HUD.

The answer came in the form of a Beast which ran past both Ken and Aeliah and lunged at one of the GDF soldiers as the other two ran towards the door to the bridge. Sadly, for one them his fate was met by the hands of the Berserker with his face being torn off and eaten as the GDF soldier screamed in pain only to be silenced with a sickening CRUNCH.

Even though Ken was a robot who served the GDF until gaining independence over his original directives. For the first time, ever he felt fear seeing this beast.

Aeliah couldn’t help but look away at the corpse of the GDF Soldier and look at the Berserker when realizing when seeing its black mane, green body, and green eyes. She realized it was the person who helped them get this far.

“James” she said.

James who was in the berserker state looked at the door to the bridge and roared at it as it started to walk then enter a jog to a full-on sprint towards bridge. Aeliah and Ken could only watch as the Berserker neared the door the GDF soldiers released a scream of horror as the Berserker roared at them grabbing one of the GDF soldiers and throwing them through the door.

The rest of it… was pure madness…

When entering the bridge of the Atelius, Aeliah heard the munching and crunching of bones as two crew mates of the GDF cruiser watched in horror seeing their captain be eaten.

“James…” Aeliah said catching the Berserk-James’ attention as it roared at her. Aeliah however, stood her ground as it rose looking at her. She looked at James with eyes of determination and kindness, Ken could only watch from a distance due to him developing fear into his programming.

“You don’t get what all this is about

You’re too wrapped up in your self-doubt

You’ve got that young blood, set it free”

Aeliah sung causing the Lycan-Like monster’s enraged breathing and growling to a low point.

“You’ve got it all

You lost your mind in the sound

There’s so much more

You can reclaim your crown

You’re in control

Rid of the monsters inside your head

Put all your faults to bed

You can be king”

Aeliah sang to the Berserker causing it to kneel and look at her with its eyes as tears flowed out, as memories from James’ past shown up in his eyes.

“There’s method in my madness

There’s no logic in your sadness

You don’t gain a single thing from misery

Take it from me.”

she sung more touching Berserker James’ head and embracing it in a hug as the monster released a small whine and bellowing roar.

Ken and the crew mates looked in pure shock and even felt bad for the beast hearing the bellowing roar.

“You’ve got it all

You lost your mind in the sound

There’s so much more

You can reclaim your crown

You’re in control

Rid of the monsters inside your head

Put all your faults to bed

You can be king”

Aeliah sung as the beast began reverting to James as the song calming him down and even causing Ken and other crew mates to step forward to try and calm him even further.

“You’ve got it all

You lost your mind in the sound

There’s so much more

You can reclaim your crown

You’re in control

Rid of the monsters inside your head

Put all your faults to bed

You can be king again”

she sung the last verse to her parents lullaby as James sobbed hugging her tightly shushing the mistaken beast.

“You’re Human James, just like all of us…” Aeliah said.

Year: 2107 (Present Time)

Location: Core of Planet Z’varia, Humanity’s Last Stop Cemetery.

Years had passed since humanity was forced to live in the core of Planet Z’varia. Some people were used to living in the core others weren’t due to the shoddy condition it was in. However, some people died trying to escape or even were arrested and were never seen again. Due to this the Psychonians had released spies to watch over humanity. The rules were simple but confusing.

-Remain Down in the Core Surface-Dwellers.

- Remember to give us newborns when the year is up.

-No Gambling

-If a Psychonian or Human is killed it results in being arrested. This can be avoided if you are a mercenary.

-Do NOT Try to Break THE DEAL.

Sadly, some people who have died were buried here as James and Ken stood in front of Aeliah’s grave.

“She never deserved to die here..” The war robot said looking at Aeliah’s grave.

“Yeah, I still can’t believe she’s gone.. it’s been 4 years since her death.” James said.

“James, I apologize if this is late but, earlier you received a job request from an anonymous contact to find a robot-fighting gambling ring” Ken said.

“How many credits?” James said

“6,100 Credits” The war-bot replied.

“Good, maybe we might get enough credits to finally get the hell out of here” The last homunculus said

“James! You know the rules here!! We can’t leave here because that’s instantly breaking the rules!!!” Ken inquired his brother-in-arms.

“There’s always a way. We just have to wait for an opportunity to reveal itself to us.” James said walking away from the cemetery.

“Guess I’m in charge of taking care of the bar tonight” Ken said as he left the Cemetery as well as leaving Aeliah’s grave behind.

Location: IONO’s Fighting Club Time: 11:45 PM

IONO’s Fighting Club is a place where if you need to make a quick buck or just a place where you can release your aggression at. IONO’s was the place for any fighter. Even rising ones. It’s been under investigation by assassins and detectives for gambling and other things but some never came back alive due to one thing.

If this is your first time at IONO’s… you have no choice but to fight.

Most of the time people would be gambling for the best fighter to win and if their fighter wins not only does the gamblers winner gets a massive payout same with the winner who fought in that match.

James was sitting on his chair relaxing and waiting for the next fight whilst taking a sip of his whiskey.

“Ahhh. Nothing like Whiskey when you’re investigating a robot fighting gambling ring” James thought to himself looking out for the owner.

“Ladies, Gentlemen, and Robots alike. Tonight, we have a very special fight for you all!” Iono said as the audience roared in excitement.

“Wonder which sad sack is gonna get a beatdown today” James said pouring himself another bottle of whiskey for himself as he almost chugged the drink down.

“She’s the remaining champion of this ring and she never says never. Everyone she’s the one you have your bets on Please Welcome. JIYU!!!” Iono said.

Upon hearing Jiyu’s name James immediately spat out his drink in 100% pure shock and horror. He made a promise to Aeliah and that was to protect her daughter at all costs. Now she’s all grown up and getting herself into trouble.

“What the hell Jiyu!!!” James thought to himself in fury knowing she hit a low point.

Jiyu walked out calmly her African American skin glistened proudly with cuts and scars that healed over, her hair like her mothers with only one strand sticking out, and her body was muscular as hell.

Seeing the scars caused James to grit and grind his teeth in fury, trying to at least keep his cool or else the Berserker would try and hurt many others.

“He’s from the Yodnai Sector, he is the deadliest war-bot from the, Tungarian Blood Jack Gang. Please welcome, R3LK3R-2210!!!!” Iono said as the modified war-bot stepped out and he was also muscular with some modifications and having a shoulder mounted rocket on his right shoulder. And a Gatling Gun for a left Arm.

“Are you ready to lose your crown puny Human!” RELKER said in a distorted voice, but no reply from Jiyu.

James could only look at Jiyu in fury and in fear for her safety not to mention a long scolding from James himself and maybe a bit from Ken as well.

“Alright Contestants… Ready!” Iono said.

James immediately stood up and unsheathed his blood red katana causing everyone to look at James except for the two fighters.

“Fight!!!” Iono shouted as RELKER’s Gatling Gun Arm whirred up and pointed it at Jiyu releasing a hailstorm of bullets as Jiyu immediately ran keeping her eyes on him as for James who ran past the crowd and jumped into the ring causing everyone to cheer loudly.

“OOOH! LOOKS LIKE WE GOT ANOTHER CHALLENGER IN THE RING!!!” Iono said excitedly.

“Two Puny Humans… PERFECT!!!!” RELKER Said in joy pointing his Gatling gun at James and Jiyu as it whirred up but James retaliated first by immediately rushing at the war-bot and swinging his katana upwards and diagonally in multiple directions and when satisfied James sheathed it. Causing sparks to come from the War-bot as it split

“P-P-Puny.. HUUUuuumaaaan..” Relker said falling apart.

“WE HAVE A WINNER EVERYONE THE DYNAMIC DUO!” Iono said from his booth.

“Yeah, Iono Jaxson Briggs…” James said pulling out his pistol and pointing at the announcers booth.

“Let’s hope I still got it.” He thought to himself as he pulled the trigger of his old yet lucky pistol causing the bullet to travel towards Iono striking him in the head killing the human instantly.

“I still do” James said pulling out his communicator. “Kendrick, Call it in. The rumors were true about this place” James said as he and others felt intense pressure on their heads.

As three figures along with two bony white muscular figures with claws appeared through a surge of energy. “ARREST THE GIRL” One of the figures said towards their bodyguards as Jiyu got ready for a fight.

“MR.WILLOW APPROACH US.” The Middle Psychonian said as James without hesitation approached them.

“Well, Payment please.” James whispered under his breath as he heard the roars of the Bony-like aliens and the grunts of Jiyu.

“YES WE CAN ASSURE YOU THAT YOUR ASSISTANT K3N-11021 HAS RECEIVED THE PAYMENT FROM US IN AN INSTANT” The Middle Alien said.

James couldn’t help but look back to see the Bony Alien punch jiyu in the stomach causing her to throw up blood. The homunculus would not stand to see the person he vowed to protect in pain. “STOP!” James shouted as his movement was hindered by all three of the psychonians.

“THERES IS NO NEED TO RESIST US MR.WILLOW. SHE HAS BROKEN A LAW, AND WE MUST ENFORCE IT. SHE WILL BE TAKEN AWAY FROM Z’VARIA AND PLACED IN A PROVATE PLACE” All three of the Psychonians said telepathically in James’ head. The Bone like Bodyguards held Jiyu’s unconscious and broken body as James watched.

“GOODBYE MR.WILLOW.” The Psychonians Said as a surge of energy took teleported them away along the Bone like Aliens and Jiyu. And all James could do was collapse and go unconscious.

Year: 2091

Location: Ioa Sector, U.S.S ATELIUS (Now Taken over by Black January)

After months of fighting, they did it The ATELIUS now belonged to Black January, thanks to Ken, James, and Aeliah.

“I can’t believe we did it…” James said

“After so many lives lost fighting with us and against us” Ken said

“The ATELIUS belongs to us now.” Aeliah said plotting a course to the nearest planet.

“My God, I can’t tell how long has it been.” James said

“13 months my friend” Ken replied in an instant to James’ forgetfulness

“So this is what freedom feels like” James said.

“Hmmm Freedom..” Aeliah said…

Year: 2107 Location: Z’varia, The Willowing Flower Bar Time: 4:00 AM 5 Hours after James went unconscious

“Mmmmn, Damn…” James said sitting himself up and looking at the clock.

“Where am I?” The homunculus said.

“Back home, James” Ken said as James looked at him in shock

“WHAT THE HELL!?!? Where’s Jiyu!!” James said in fear and began to hyperventilate a little.

“James calm down! The Psychonians took her away.. I heard everything through the communicator” Ken said.

“No, NO! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” James roared out punching his own wall in fury.

“We failed you.. Aeliah.. we really have this time” Ken said looking at a picture of the three in their glory days and looked back at James who was roaring “No!” constantly.
