Having a bad mental health day. Anyone wanna send me stories?
Go and listen to an awkward ace ramble bramble on nerd things and awkward stories!
On my way to work today, got on the escalator at the train station between platforms. I tend to leave two steps between myself and the person in front of me because sometimes there will be a guy with a big backpack who gets on the escalator, and once he gets comfortable he'll put a foot back on the step behind him so his bag is in my face and it's not fun partially leaning back on the escalator so someone's bag isn't kissing my teeth.
So I get on the escalator. Two steps between me and the guy in front of me. A middle-aged man is walking down the right hand side while holding a big rolly suitcase. He spots the space in front of me and slides in, his bag behind the guy in front of me and the back of his head now directly in my face.
Then I guess his wife, who was following him, says something. He turns around and looks at her (and me in the middle) (I had headphones blaring music at their highest level because I'm suffering an ear infection that makes it difficult to hear). The wife taps me on the shoulder. I have absolutely no idea what to do. I think she wants to stand next to suitcase man but we're on an escalator and 1) I can't really move and 2) the ride is only going to take a few more seconds, surely she can wait? Also 3) I was here first and did not ask your partner to stop in front of me. And 4) we're all going to the same place, cool it.
When she gathers that I'm not moving, she reaches forward, over my shoulder, to touch the guy's back. It was only a few more seconds but it was so bizarre. I had no idea what to do. It was like an awkward human sandwich. I'm glad they included me or whatever in their little adventure but 0/10 don't want to experience it again
Hope this series of slightly awkward events has brought joy and laughter into your day, and wish me luck as I continue to use this gift card to buy chocolate (among other things that a 27-year-old should be buying).
#storytime
So last night I slept with a guy who snores. Which I knew already but this time he'd come to snuggle me and sleep in 5 seconds and start snoring really close to me lol.
His hand was kinda heavy and he'd put it in my ribs and it was kinda hard to breathe lol.
Dude yeah it was awkward.
I couldn't sleep all night so I slept all day once I got home
I hate how awkward I am when trying to talk to new people I tried telling someone I liked their Green Day shirt and ended up being weird and I’m not even sure if I got out a coherent sentence
Don't Mess With Christian Schools. They have knives.
Okay so there's a story behind this.
Today at school, I was zoning out like most teenagers do, and all of a sudden a couple girls start laughing, and I tune in to find that they're talking about opossums. Weird, but pretty normal.
I was curious, so I asked a senior who's sitting next to me, "Hey what're they talking about?"
She laughed and replied, "Oh yeah, last year (I wasn't here, I enrolled this year) a group of us were in a church to spend the night and they killed an opossum."
Naturally I thought she meant they hit it with a car, so it seemed pretty innocent.
But then she kept talking.
"--now this wouldn't have been a problem if it weren't for the fact that they stabbed it with knives." I whipped my head around and gave her a horrified face, so she laughed and continued, "Yeah I know, they weren't supposed to have any weapons on them but a couple people brought knives, and the opossum got in the church so they panicked and stabbed it."
So yeah, don't screw with Christian school kids.
They have knives and they /will/ use them.
My awkward story. One night my dog got sprayed by a skunk and stunk up the house I cleaned him and took a shower myself and I thought I smelled ok and had to go to school that morning so I went. It turns out that I just got used to the smell because when I got into my first class everyone was like “what’s that smell” and started gagging. I managed to play it off and got through the class. I went to the nurse and explained everything and she said “oh that’s the smell” and let me go home early.
Oh no oh no no no! I had one too many interactions with skunks in my lifetime to know exactly how awful that must have been! I’m so sorry that happened to you:(
But it did put my embarrassing mishap into perspective and now I don’t feel as bad.
