Color dreams of a whole other world. She floats through the abyss, seeing different hues and shades...she can see acutal colors. She can't describe them. The vibrant, warm feeling she gets when she looks at apples and tomatoes. A burst of sparks down her spine at the oranges and grapefruits. A smile through the lightning blasts and sunlight. The crunch under her steps when she sees trees and hard earth. Calmness and serenity at the skies and water. Pride at the colors of eggplants and bedroom carpets. Everything disappears under her fingers when she tries to touch them. It's always out of reach. Then black. She can feel panic surging up her throat when she sees the darkness spreading towards the unearthly colored things. They begin to turn dark, so dark that it begins to blend in. She tries to scream but she realizes with horror that the darkness is spreading up her arms and legs, enveloping her in such potent black that she cannot see. Color wakes up, gasping. Her eyes are wide opens and she almost screams again because all she can think is, the darkness has found me, I'll never be able to get out. Then she remembers that she's blind. "Figures," she mutters. Her hands splay around until she finds her walking stick. She changes quickly before making her way downstairs. "Hey, Col!" Dana calls out. "I was just about to leave for the bus! You want a hot choco to go?" "Thanks," she says as she reaches the table. She stuffs a few pieces of toast into her mouth before leaving with Dana. Color's right. Just as she boards the bus, a paper ball smacks her against the right cheek. "Hey, blindfold!" Chase. Being a douchebag as usual. She chooses to ignore her, though, as she takes her seat beside Dana. After a few more stopovers, they arrived at school with plenty more time to go before Assembly. "Are you coming with us or...?" Dana trails off. She smiles. "Sorry, Dane. I'm cutting." She'a pretty sure that Dana just pursed her lips. "Are you sure, Col? This is the fifth time, I'm not sure the school---" "I don't care about the school," she says coolly. "They can chuck me out if they really cared." On that note, Color is the first person to get off the bus. Instead of going through the front door, she heads out of the campus borders and toward the Mcdonalds nearby. She orders a cheeseburger and a large coke and follows a vivid path to somewhere that holds lots of memories for her. McColaughan Park's river. She walks slowly, using her walking stick to make shre she knows where the riverside is before she locates the old maple tree her family always sat beside. She sits down, leaning her back against the tree bark and unfolding the wrapper on her cheeseburger. When she takes a deep breath, she can almost imagine her parents cuddling there, Shape drinking lemonade, Line swimming in the river and Harmony tickling her softly. Ohh, the times when Color could still see. Whenever she thought about it, it always just made her depressed. She's just about to doze off when someone kicks her in the hip, making lose her grip on her walking stick. "Well if isn't Blindfold," Chase snickers. "Boys, I think we got us a prize."
