Heya! I love your graphics. I had a question about one of your gifs if thats okay! I love your 002 gifs as requested by your followers - do you have any suggestions or tutorials to point to on how to isolate a graphic from the background like you did in those gifs? (ie; remove the background and just have have Zero Two or something). Thank you for your help if you can. I'd really appreciate it. Your stuff is great. As a fellow gifmaker, keep it up.
First things first, thank you so much for your kind words, it means a lot to me ❤️
Another thing is, sorry to keep you waiting for the answer, my blog runs mostly on queue these months. But while I’m at it, I’ll shed some light on the issue of transparency in gifs as you asked.
The issue with gifs is that they generate a lot of similarly looking frames that Photoshop treats as seperate images - so clearing one frame won’t do you any good. You have to clear each frame of background, unfortunately. You can do it manually which takes ages, or use more efficient ways listed in this video.
Aside from that, I also suggest that you take a closer look when tackling the gif; some sequences just continue to repeat themselves in a row for few frames, Then, you can make your life a bit easier and delete the repeating frames and replace them by copying the already cleared image. That can save you some time for sure.
My personal preference is additionally putting a bright coloured layer (just not white! I recommend neons) at the very bottom of all the layers. In this way, you can see all the spots you missed when removing the background. After you’re done you, just delete that layer or change the colour that matches the isolated character - totally up to you. Good luck, and feel free to ask any other questions you have!
