He kept his glasses on his face to hide the fear in his eyes. “Failure is a nine...” His voice was unusually low and not confident at all. “I’ve learned that failure is unacceptable the hard way as I grew up.” His parents -- particularly his mother -- was off doing her job with his dad overseas while he was here in Inaba. It still scared him-- scared that he’ll disappoint everyone, and that’s where his abandonment issues come in.

“Abandonment is also a nine out of ten. I won’t go into details, but it’s related to my previous fear. It’s... hard being myself. I have so much to do, so many expectations to fulfill... I’m sure you understand what that means.”
