Poor Cedric, it takes him one tiny mistake—barely even a mistake. A dropped quill. A missed step. A stutter in his spell. And there was Theo watching him like an owl.
& It happens all the time. In the corridors, during class, even at Hogsmeade.
Cedric shows you a flower he picked? Theo says it’s “sweet… in a second-year sort of way.”
Cedric forgets one tiny detail about something you said last week? Theo’s there before you even blink. “Don’t worry, she’ll repeat it, she’s patient with the slow learners.”
Cedric slightly trips on the way to the dueling circle during their Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson? There he is pointing it out. “Oh no, better be careful Diggory. Hate for you to fall before the match starts”
You rolled your eyes. “He just stumbled.”
Theo smiled. “I know. It was adorable.”
And sometimes, you hate how much you hear it. How much the things he says stick.
Because Cedric is wonderful. Kind. Charming. But Theo? Theo sees every flaw. And he wants you to see them, too.
