I’m sad that Nicky is half Mexican and he didn’t speak Spanish even a little bit in the books so to make myself feel better I’m declaring Nicky speaks Spanish. You can’t even tell me he doesn’t cause his mom is straight up from Mexico. (I have more to this but that’s for another post [mostly hc’s about Nicky and Maria’s relationship before all the shittiness that is the camp]) Also, considering I’ve read fics (and I can’t remember if it was in the books) where Neil was taking Spanish classes so they speak Spanish to each other. Both as a way for Neil to practice and because it’s something they can share together and bond over even more. The twinyards + Nicky and Neil share German 🇩🇪 Kevin and Neil have French 🇫🇷 Neil and Andrew have Russian 🇷🇺 And Nicky and Neil have Spanish 🇲🇽

Mermaid AU

Alex: •his tail is green but it has some dark patches in it •he always swims to the air and looks around to see the humans walking around •his son Philip is alive and he is a great dad :) •owns a petfish (tjeff wants to eat that) •went to the surface with pip to go to a roller coaster park •shouldn’t be around knives •really sensitve tail when he doesn’t sleep

John: •his fin is dark blue with some golden hues in it. He also has a little fin on his back which stretches to his waist. It glows in the dark. •His tail is hurt though because he once had a fight with Charles Lee. His tail can’t move that fast anymore :( •takes care of Pip with Alex. He didn’t like children until he met Pip. •REALLY gay •wants to impress Gwash and Angelica (Mommy and Daddy of everyone) •hates humans (Charles Lee) •loves coconuts •has a very cute nose

Lafayette: •he looks different from the others because he is from a foreign kingdom •his tail is longer but slender than the others •it color is a light blue with light purple hues in it. He also has a fin on his back and it goes to the tip of his tail. •like makeup bit can’t wear it underwater •everyone gives him gifts like scarfs but he doesn’t like things about his neck because he once was trapped in garbage which was floating in the water •makes up weird stories about his home and everyone believes him •his skin gets really dry when he’s out of the water •once brought a ballon but it exploded because of the pressure and it scared the shit out of him •wanted to bring a bucket of air to show it to the others •adores ugly see creatures

Hercules: •his tail is pretty short and brown and not really extraordinary. But he makes sheaths for other mermaids like him! •he has little fins on his back. They are pink and really sensetive. •has a little sister and she is his life •loves flowers •once mixed up Tjeffs and Lafs order and everyone kept confusing the two of them •produces illegal liquor •loves to take different fabrics from the surface for his shop

Washington: •he is the ruler of the kingdom •his tail is really big and strong which makes him the fastest swimmer. •next to his job as the king he looks after the little baby mermaids! •his tail is peanut butter colored •he hunts his food himself like everyone else •he hates the humans because they wanted to keep the mermaids as slaves and he once destroeyed a whole ship because it got to close to their kingdom •he’s also a dork because he swims down stairs…

Burr: •his tail is gold on the hips and fades into a purple tip •he always hides his tail with the help of Herc because he doesn’t want to be noticed •Theo jr has his purple tail •he fell in love with a sailor it was Theo •he had to take Theo jr away from her mom because she has a tail and wouldn’t survive on land •he wears flower crowns Theo jr makes for him •he’s addicted to human pepsi!

Thomas: •he volunteers at a fish kitchen •his tail is pretty long and really fancy •keeps flirting with humas but is too shy to actually be in a romance with them •loves flower crowns •best paying customer at Hercs shop •he has huge fins on his back which go to his tip. But they are so big it’s not good for fast swimming •he has a few scales which were yellow when he was born and everyone thought they will become gold when he’s an adult but they turned out to be yellow-orange ish and he hates them •loves to bring stuff he invented on the surface underwater

James: •he is pretty tall but he is hella skinny •he gets really sick really easily when he swims a lot out of his home so he just stays at home •vegan •he wrote something on land with ink and on paper and he wanted to show it his friends but water and paper :( •when he was a kid his tail was grey but now it’s silver and everyone is jealous! •his fins are really slender with small white dots and he can detect the slightest movement of water •grooms them •stays home during mating season together with Thomas because it really exhausts him :(

Charles Lee: •is a sailor who wants to capture mermaids with nets •was bitten by Alex after he hurt John •gives gwash presents and pretends to be the good guys but everyone knows what a fucker he is •loves seeweed but pretends he doesn’t •is really jealous of Theo because she has a sweet merman husband •studies Merpeople in a labor •has a sexy mermaid tatoo

James Reynolds: •is a human and owns a company which is polluting the sea •doesn’t really care about Maria or her home

Maria Reynolds: •wine red tail with one really fancy fin on her back which goes to the tip of her tail •she hates the upside world but James always forces her to stay with him •just wants to be happy with her merfolk friends •she’s a badass though! So don’t fight with her

Angelica: •fancy af and everyone loves her •her tail is dark red with golden hues •fins are pink and big •loves her sisters more than anything in her life •is protective of all her friends and people she loves (even tjeff) •knows about Burrs tail but keeps it a secret •reminds everyone to take care of themselves and not to swim towards the surface (which they still do)

Eliza: •light blue tail with little green fins on her back. •takes care of James because he is always sick •knows everything about humans •is a scientist •goes to the surface lots of times and therefore is a bad swimmer •loves human fairytales

Peggy: •bright yellow tail with one big golden fin on the back •loves human girls ;) •and loves human spring •wants humans and the merfolk to get along •is really good at volleyball
