Hello Bangkok. Sawaddee Ka. _ So happy to be in Thailand. You will find me on the streets hitting up a handstand while I drink coconuts, eat durian (yes I like it), mango, sticky rice, Tom Yum, Pad Thai (vegan), and do a little shopping (it’s mandatory). _ Oh and, yes I’m also teaching all weekend @aybkk Friday night’s class is sold out but there’s still space on Saturday & Sunday. Come practice. _ Be you say I’m not being safe, this amazing view is from @musebkk and I’m sitting on a large and heavy metal table safely nestled far away from the real edge. I’m not a risk taker or an adrenaline junkie so you can be sure if you see me on a ledge that it’s rock solid. Promise. _ #bkk #aybkk #ashtangabangkok #yogathailand (at Hotel Muse, Bangkok)
I made my first trip in May 2015 and went on three other occasions in the subsequent months.
There are good and fun places to practice Ashtanga yoga in Asia, but Bangkok was my first overseas yoga experience because besides the affordable flight and accommodation costs, it is a popular destination for Singaporeans.
My stays were about a week in length, just nice for shopping and food hunting activities around the city. If you’re planning to kick up an adventure like Bradly Cooper in “The Hangover”, cater for an extra day or two, in case you need to be nursing in the hotel room.

Other tips?
I would recommend staying at S31 Hotel, or any nearby hotel such as SBox that is just directly opposite, if you want a hassle-free access to the studio and avoid running into bad traffic.
Sbox is an excellent budget hotel. The rooms are new and clean. Daily breakfast is served from 6.30am-1030am, free WiFi is provided and you can easily get a taxi there. I had no problems staying there during my last few visits and will likely stay there for future trips.
Yummy, authentic Thai street food that costs around 45 Baht can be easily found along Soi 1, but try exploring the other Sois in the area. If you prefer to dine in somewhere cooler and indoors, Terminal 21 shopping mall (next to Asoke BTS) is just nearby for about 65 Baht a meal at the foodcourt.
