look not to be a slut but i would love to hear your thoughts on paulina 😳😳😳😳

-she’s an immigrant! her family’s been in the us for a couple years but she still remembers central america (I don’t actually know enough about latinx culture to speak confidently on how this impacts her life or even where she should be from but. yeah)

-ok so in parental bonding the necklace turns people into dragons right. well i think the dragon form should be unique to each person. paulina’s dragon form is this bedazzled pink-and-gold-and-blue alebrije made of a bazillion different animals

-she IS special and adorable!!!!! repping self-confidence on the outside like the ultimate princess

-she does have a lot of hidden anxieties tho... “if my skin is perfect, I’ll be perfect” mentality. she’s constantly afraid of being judged so she either conceals what she doesn’t like or leans way too into it

-she projects being shallow bc that’s what people expect of her and it’s easier to live up to expectations than explain every single time why she’s like this

-neurodivergent paulina time. she used to bite her nails as a stim but now she carries around nail polish EVERYWHERE and just puts more on as a stim

-actually a lot of her applying makeup/brushing her hair etc etc is just stimming that she learned to tone down to something she likes the outcomes of

-a lot of what people see as shallow insults are her just saying things she notices/finds neat. bc she doesnt want to be caught up she plays it off like she meant to be insulting sometimes

-she took a summer class on computers and technology and is qualified to help you in IT. there is nothing you can do about it

-she IS, however, stupid as all hell. like she’s somewhat socially aware, but she CANNOT do math and she will NEVER realize that phantom is fenton no matter how many times star yells it. shit memory paulina rights

-bi paulina :) 

-she’s interested in photography!! a lot of it is selfies. this is because a) she knows she is cute and is proud of it and b) she wants to take photos of models but feels weird asking other people to pose for her

-kwan x paulina is the hidden ship that we deserve. wholesome.

So Kwan in this verse probably moved to Amity Park around fifth/sixth grade, and he's been buddies with Dash ever since. Dash is the one who encouraged Kwan to try out for football-- he's always had the build for it, but he was too shy to get involved before.

He's a bona fide mama's boy who grew up cooking, baking, doing yoga and watching chick flicks with her. He's comfortable in his masculinity as a result, which is a factor in why he and Dash get along so well. (Mind you, neither are immune to jock machisimo, but Kwan's more resistant to it.)

He's also the shyest of the A-listers, and doesn't get a kick out of excluding people like Dash and Paulina. He doesn't know many other kids, so he doesn't get involved unless there's a golden opportunity to, but when he talks to people outside his friend group he usually likes them. He doesn’t realize that people consider Dash and Paulina (and her friends, by extension) to be so mean.

During the "athletes vs. losers" subplot he's conflicted, because he doesn't want to be lumped in as a nerd-hater. (He's always wanted to try new extracurriculars, but never has the time/confidence.) During Frog Rights, though, Kwan and Tucker have to join forces on the homecoming committee, and they end up getting along surprisingly well. They both feel like the odd men out in their friend groups (Tucker because of the ghost stuff, Kwan because of peer pressure), and find they're not as different as they thought they were. So they end up friends.

During Surface Tension, there's a scare where Tucker has to reveal Danny's identity to Kwan in order to get Danny back. Kwan mirrors the horror Tucker has felt about Danny's accident, but agrees to help. The timeline is rewritten shortly after that and Kwan forgets all about it, but it sets a precedent for people discovering The Big Secret later on.

At least one of his appearances consists of chatting idly with Tucker while Danny and Dash have a row and/or beat the shit out of each other in the background.

Kwan also has a decent part in Vote for Tucker, especially since both Sam and Danny are MIA. Other than that, I'm not sure how much he'll be in season 3 yet?

one fun and lovely fact to keep in mind is that the creators said that the corruption they found in their research was actually worse than anything they put on screen. so keep that in mind whenever you find yourself thinking "wow these guys are cartoonishly evil". oh also wrt nate: you're not wrong to be suspicious but you're also not right. stinky bastard man lol

I’m very intrigued by everyone’s comments about Nate. I’m only 3 episodes in but I can already tell how controlling he is, and I can see that coming to bite the others in the ass. There’s definitely something off about him. 

Again, only 3 episodes in. And it’s going to take me a while to finish the season. But I’m enjoying it so far.

oh my god, this was one of those “aus i’ll never write” off the cuff meta things and so it never got posted on ao3 anywhere and i completely forgot about it and then couldn’t find it at all when you mentioned and was starting to think i was crazy or you had very sweetly mistaken me for a different author on that one
