Hi, I have a silly prompt (if you're willing to do so, of course)! Maybe Sam trying to draw a picture of himself? :D Whether he's good at it or not is your choice XD (Bonus idea: Dean trying to claim he can do better but is so much worse XD)

Ahhh i want to thank you so much for this prompt!! This ended up going wayy angstier lmao.

This is just a sketch i did the day after i asked for prompts but i've been working on it a fair bit this weekend. I just wanted to share bc i honestly dont know if i will end up finishing it.

anyways i thought it would be fun to do something based off of norman rockwell's 'self portrait'

Ranking their costumes in order, I would say 1st place goes to Bea, then Laz, then Alex; Bea's looks the most costume-ish, like she put the most effort, Laz is good but some parts seem like he woulda had them for a normal outfit, Alex looks like he just grabbed an outfit from his closet then put accessories (not to say it doesn't look good bc it does) but yeah Bea gets 1st place in my opinion! Also the art came out stunning, nice!!! :D

Poking his head from behind the camera, Drake gave an exasperated sigh, “I’m trying to take a picture of you, please stop moving.”

Launchpad froze like a deer in headlights. Then his face split into a sheepish grin, “Sorry DW,” he said, straightening up and facing the lens now.

Drake went back to finding the perfect shot, but paused again to sing-song his second reprimand, “that goes for you too, Gosalyn.”

“But Daaaad, this is so boring,” She bemoaned. Then splayed her hands out demonstratively, “I mean look at all the stuff we could be doing and we’re just sitting still!”

Drake knew perfectly well what the agony of having to stay still for long periods was, but he himself had mastered sitting calmly long stretches, back when he had to do promotional photoshoots. They could handle a few commemorative pictures.

“It’ll only be a few more minutes. And you think I’m going to let this day pass without a nice photo to hang on the wall?” He asked indignantly, resolutely ignoring the theme park attractions all around them as he spoke. They did look fun, and he was looking forward to doing it all with his family. But he wasn’t going to let a single important moment pass without a beautiful picture to capture the memory.

“There is such a thing as living in the moment, DW,” Launchpad suggested warmly as he balanced Gosalyn on his knee.

“Yes,” Drake agreed shortly, “and I’m going to live in this moment forever with a photo, now stay still, please.”

He went back to lining up the shot, but barely a few seconds later Gosalyn was bursting into peals of laughter.

He lowered the camera to give her a look, fighting down the urge to grin along with her giggling, she did not need encouragement.“Gosalyn, if you wait just—”

“It’s not me!” She interrupted, still cackling as she struggled away from Launchpad. “He’s tickling me!” She accused once she’s escaped from where she sat on his lap, throwing a finger out to point up at her other dad.

“I’m sorry, Gos,” Launchpad chuckled, grinning infectiously, “you’re just too cute, I couldn’t resist!“

Drake turned his deadpan expression on him now and Launchpad only shrugged, grinning guilty.

"If you could please,” Drake began to beg of them, but at that moment Gosalyn was diving back towards LP to assault him with tickles of her own.

“I’ll show you cute!”

His laughter was deep and delighted as he fought back with wiggling fingers to her sides.

“S-stop!” She demanded through bursts of laughter, both grinning as they nearly fell back into the fountain they were sat on for the picture.

Drake was quick to take several pictures, all of them blurry as they moved and laughed, but each one joy-filled.

“Alright, fine. Come on!” He called out to them, his wry smile quietly fond, “let’s go get on some rides.”

Both of them stilled at those words.

“But what about your picture?” Launchpad asked, looking genuinely remorseful now.

“I got some,” Drake informed him, rolling his eyes affectionately. “And what was that you said? About ‘living in the moment’.”

“But you really wanted a nice one,” he said insistently, “We can sit still," Launchpad said dutifully, face stern with determination as he sat stiff as a board with Gosalyn calmly at his side.

Drake raised an eyebrow. Watching Launchpad’s face twitch as he tried to keep from moving and Gosalyn absentmindedly kicking her feet against the fountain. "It’s beginning to seem like you can’t,” he muttered lowly to himself. 

“Besides,” he stated projecting his voice for them now, waving Launchpad’s concerns away, “you two wanted to go ahead and ride stuff, right?”

“Yeah,” Launchpad agreed reluctantly before going on, “but I was also gonna take a picture with you and Gos. Don’t you—?”

His suggestion was cut off by Gosalyn hopping down to walk towards Drake, “I have a solution to all of this,” she said with a cheeky grin, taking the camera from his hands. Drake watched her sharply, mouth open and ready to object to whatever she was doing. As she approached a random stranger he started moving to quickly intervene. But she only smiled sweetly up at the parakeet, “could you take a picture of us?”

“Yeah, sure,” they agreed easily. Then Gosalyn grabbed Drake by the hand and lead them to sit back down with Launchpad.

They settled in with Gosalyn sitting on his lap now and Launchpad looping an arm around his shoulders.

“Say cheese!” The parakeet exclaimed.

“Cheese!” They all chorused, grinning at the camera.

In the time they had been sitting with the bird trying to take their picture, Gosalyn was already wiggling impatiently on the edge of Drake’s knees and Launchpad was once again bouncing his leg. 

“Could you maybe stop moving?” Requested the parakeet from behind the camera.

And Drake couldn’t help his resounding laugh.

Oh goodness, I feel bad for not sending in something on the day of 🥺 But happy belated birthday!! I hope for your birthday, you got to feel the same amount happiness you've brought into the world! (Which is always more than you know!) :D

thank you :D dont feel bad haha i tend to be a bit quiet about it. it was very nice though, my friends got me a cool printed cel of spock from the animated series + i finally got to crack into my psychonauts 2 art book so! very fun :]
