Pilots of the 15th Spanish Squadron of the 27th Fighter Squadron of the Luftwaffe 15.(Span)/JG.27. The squadron was unofficially called the "Blue Squadron" (Escuadrilla Azul)

From left to right: unknown, Sarracido, Zorita, Chavarria (missing in action on 3 or 4 December 1941 during the fighting near Moscow). On the fuselage of the Messerschmitt Bf.109E fighter, the squadron emblem is visible, taken from the Falangist banner

which featured flying birds and the inscription "Vista Suerie y al Toro" (roughly translated as "With a warm heart - forward, to the bull!"). 1941
