HELLO I am Azuumi, my favourite colour is blue, especially BRIGHT bubblegum blue, and then next fav is yellow. I just painted my room these colours this week. My fav ship is my self insert/Asra ArcanaGame cuz I'm shameless and in LOVE. Any ice cream is good and I have 4 cats: Kevin, Stanley, Tilly and Pixel. And a dog named Maisie. And I am REALLY hoping to get a birb today!! A cockatiel. My tufty fluff child.

There is a person that is a regular con goer where every con she has planned to go to, she has submitted a request to host an otome panel and was rejected.

Recently, she submitted the same to a con catering to female nerds and they rejected her request on the grounds of "The obsession over fictional men is unhealthy and we don't support anything that would fuel it."

I just... I have no words. These are games that are marketed specifically to female gamers and are the equivalent of a romance novel/movie and some how that equals unhealthy obsession.

Also, who gets to decide what is and isn’t healthy? For a portion of my life, I was obsessed with and spent A LOT of money on Sailormoon merch from Japan. I seriously have thousands of dollars worth of stuff in my apartment and specifically collected Sailor Starlights merch. Was that unhealthy???

Imagine there is a writing convention and you try to have a panel about romance novels and the con organizers are like: No. You have an unhealthy obsession with romance novels and we can’t support it. EVERY OTHER TYPE OF NOVEL IS FINE THOUGH. COME RIGHT IN. No.. no romance novels.... what did we say?

Or a movie/tv show festival? Wait, the movie you want to submit is a romance? Oh.. No... We can’t allow that. That’s just lower media and we promote higher media so.... Oh, you want to dress up like a person from a romance story? Wow, what a bunch of losers.

Oh, I guess I forgot to mention that con-goers who are cosplaying as otome characters are also being ridiculed and talked down to as well?

We are the new lepers. It’s ridiculous.

God, I ranted again. I’m sorry but I’m really angry that within a community where we should be welcomed and people should be understanding, we are seen as the extreme lesser. But I guess that’s the history of stuff women like, so... yeah.
