Written for the Westallen 100 Word Prompt Challenge:
Prompt: “You are my love.”
He held his breath as her hand came toward his face. He wanted to turn away and hide from her but he was transfixed by the warmth in her eyes and couldn’t look away, couldn’t bring himself to pull away from her.
When her soft hands finally settled upon his marred cheek, he jolted in place, inhaling sharply before slowly letting it out as he let his eyes flutter closed.
“You are my love,” she whispered.
Her words were the balms to his wounded soul but even so, he knew the truth.
She was the beauty and he was the beast.

It’d been long since they’d crossed the border. Sheep herded along by their grumpy shepherd and the lovely wife of his. The others knew. Of course they did. All of them couldn’t help but feel a little separated from the happy family unit that was Logan-Ariel-Jamie. Alright, happy is a bit of an exaggeration. Read: grumpy shepherd. But the longer she drew this out, the more she felt uncomfortable. She wasn’t lying persay, but it was starting to feel more and more like one. Legit question: Why the hell are three mandrills and a pufferfish, creatures native to tropical climates, in a ice elemental viking clan that consists of mainly snowy and arctic animals? 😭
Bruh, Nintendo, there's already a monkey species that lives in snowy biomes, Japanese Macaques! Why did you choose effing mandrills when they existed?! Also really, a pufferfish? You literally could've gone with an actual sea creature that lives in the arctic like an orca or a narwhal!
