I got a ticket to see Bertie Carvel at a festival in Italy.

The resulting serotonin spike was apparently enough to make me finish this Finn artwork.

I desperately need more Babylon Finn x Liz fanfiction. The absolute TENSION between them in the last 2 episodes was overwhelming and I need it to be resolved 😩

every three years or so something happens and a handful of people discover babylon uk channel 4 2014 and specifically the exquisite hetbait that is Liz/Finn. i made most of my graphics and fic when i was 19. my politics have evolved and my analysis is more critical, but I maintain that the cast is stellar, the directing was great, and the Scotland Yard dynamics are bonkers. from the start the fandom was so fun. Also Liz/Finn permanently skyrocketed my standards for M/F enemies-to-lovers right before the rlo booktok explosion god bless

I finally finished watching Babylon on Netflix UK. The ENDING! So many questions! I really wish they would do a follow up. Some things I’ve noted from the show:

- Finn can be appalling as a character but he’s also had a point. I hate him but I also love him 🤣

- Bertie Carvel is BRILLIANT (no surprise there).

- My jaw ached from watching too many gum chewing scenes (I’m looking at you Bertie).

- Jesse Armstrong wrote Babylon as a training wheel for Succession.

- I’ve lost track on how many times Jimmy Nesbitt played a copper (Babylon, Murphy’s Law, Bloodlands, Stay Close, Line of Duty and Lucky Man comes to mind) but he’s a great actor and his other projects where he didn’t play a copper were solidly good (Jekyll, Cold Feet, Bloody Sunday, The Missing, The Secret, Five Minutes of Heaven) , so I’ll let him pass 😌

- Nick Blood from Agents of SHIELD was in it and his character’s arc were good.

- Did Liz works for Instagram prior joining the Met police as director of communications or was I hallucinating?

- Daniel Kaluuya from Black Panther and Nope also in it.

- Trust no one at your workplace because walls have ears and you’ll never know who might stab you in the back.

- I also love Tony Forbes and secretly glad he’d done the right thing.

- I keep distracted by Bertie’s butt (*THAT* is a glorious butt. SORRY NOT SORRY).

speaking of the babylon fandom, i had a really vivid dream last night about going through the clearance section of a bookshop and finding a production notebook with a lot of babylon design sketches (including one i think which had a ❤️ floating above liz and finn). then everyone realised that was only the second volume and the bookshop staff basically turned the shop over to find the first one which they did (!)

aaaannnnddd that was precisely the point when i woke up and was gutted that i couldn’t share the designs with you all 😭
