A common cottage garden plant, Kerria japonica 'Pleniflora' (Japanese rose, bachelor's buttons) is a vigorous suckering deciduous shrub. It thrives in a sunny position to form a thicket of stems which can be a challenge if space is limited.

This was taken as the clouds move over the harsh sun. The shutter speed was a comfortable 1/500 second at ISO 100.
