I always get really sniffy about Beatles fancasts of Paul they really annoy me! I think its because a lot of the people they fancast may resemble Paul but they look arrogant. Paul has this innocent look that I rarely see in people as attractive as him. There's no sense of superiority to him. Which is why I've got such a crush. Attractive people that ate smug about it immediately makes me lose all interest. Paul's not like that at all. He's just sweet and precious. No one else compares!

I think I get what you are saying regarding casting.

Gary Bakewell was the only Paul that I enjoyed because while it took place in Hamburg, he didn’t take shit from John.

Other bios can gloss him over like you said.

Also, Backbeat is my favorite Beatles theme film, so that is another reason why I dig Gary’s portrayal.
