Instructions: Set a pan or griddle over medium heat. Each piece of bread should have butter on one side. Put 4 bread slices on the griddle or skillet with the butter side down. Put a piece of cheddar cheese and a piece of bacon on top of each slice. Put the last few slices of bread on top, butter side up. A tasty and entertaining take on classic bacon is twisted bacon. The cayenne pepper adds a light heat for those who prefer their food spicy, and the brown sugar adds a sweet, caramelized crunch. It's the ideal snack or appetizer for any situation.
Ingredients: 12 slices of bacon. 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper optional.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 375F 190C. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top of it. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cayenne pepper if using. Take a slice of bacon and gently twist it into a spiral shape. Repeat with the remaining bacon slices. Dip each twisted bacon slice into the brown sugar mixture, coating it evenly on both sides. Place the coated bacon twists on the wire rack on the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and caramelized. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious twisted bacon!
