What "HB 4938" within Michigan does is Outlaw VPNs entirely with $500k fines for using or selling them. Require 24/7 surveillance of all internet traffic for users. Restrict porn, erotic AI, ASMR, manga, and even depictions of trans people. Add porn distributors to the sex offender registry and carry up to 25 years in prison for violations.

The Senate is poised to vote any day now on the SAVE Act, a sweeping voter suppression bill that will disenfranchise millions of Americans. We must act now to make sure it never reaches Trump’s desk.

This bill will disenfranchise tens of millions of Americans, including 146 million Americans without passports, Americans living or serving overseas, 70 million married women, rural voters, and anyone who has legally changed their name.

Trump has stated that passing the SAVE Act is his "No. 1 priority" and vowed not to sign any other bills into law until it passes. He even admitted that its passage would "guarantee the midterms" for Republicans.

The freedom to vote is fundamental to American democracy. Congress is responsible for safeguarding this sacred right, not undermining it with lies and fearmongering. The Senate must vote NO on the SAVE Act.

This is about: The "Age Verification" bills theyre going to try and pass, why its wrong, how it effects the rest of the world, and how to fight it.

In Colorado they're trying to pass a bill that forces you to do Identity verification ("age verification") at linux and windows start up. No matter what you think about the plausibility of this, the meaning behind it is obvious. So is the timing.

"Age verification" and Identity tracking:

Within recent months applications like Roblox and Discord has implemented (or plan to implement) age verification via face scanning or government ID; the way they're doing this is AI. Specifically open AI. Open Ai has come under fire time and time again because of DATA LEAKS. Peoples faces and IDs. It's also came to light the government may be using that information to track people. Currently that is for location, but with things they want to implement (devices and the internet period) that could mean wide spread activity tracking.

They use "protecting the children" to use your emotions. This makes things WORSE for all minors and all adults. This does not protect anyone.

I urge you to look more into this, look at what this means for you. Even if you're not a US citizen this could effect you. This started in Australia.

The people who should be protecting the children online are THEIR PARENTS. The person who should be monitoring a child is THEIR CARE TAKER. Not the government.

These bills are also being used to censor queer media. I know several of my followers engage with or write content on AO3 THESE BILLS CAN AND WILL HEAVILY EFFECT AO3. Tumblr, twitter, instagram. Everywhere. There will be no privacy, or queer content. Fight this. In anyway you can.

Call or email your representatives. And please dont let this go unspoken about.

I am still not sure if only German people can contact German reps. This is the dumbest doubt anyone could possibly have I know. If you can't, email the danish presidency. It's pushing for nations to be pro-chatcontrol and we want to put pressure on them.
