I have so much admiration for legal observers
Sudan is currently experiencing the largest and worst humanitarian crisis on the planet due to the ongoing civil war - hundreds of thousands dead, millions displaced, unspeakable atrocities including ethnic cleansing and mass rape. It is estimated more than 30 million people are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance.
Sudan is the biggest humanitarian crisis ever recorded. Hereโs what you need to know about the crisis in Sudan and what you can do to help.

The 7.8 earthquake that struck near Sarangani, Mindanao is a currently developing story with the quake striking at 7:32 AM PhST yesterday killing at least 40 as of the latest count (the death toll still rising as more people are found and with aftershocks in the next few weeks), displacing at least 20,000 people, and destroying a lot of infrastructure from homes to public spaces to private businesses and even schools. It's a little difficult for me to find information if there's any NGO or community-run/citizen-run relief drives at the moment and especially since I don't use X/Twitter or Instagram but I do want to share some here. If anyone has any information or links that would directly help the people affected by the recent earthquake, feel free to share them here as I'm also trying to look around other places like Facebook even with how terrible its search function is.
From what I've found so far, I'm reposting some images from GCash's Facebook page regarding various large groups and companies that had given different QR codes that people could donate to with Angat Buhay being a well-known NGO that did quick response during last year's typhoon barrage and PDRF being a group that's specifically geared towards disaster response:
Here's also some posts from student organizations that I'm copying over from Facebook. This one is a post from Notre Dame of Marbel University Peacebuilder's page calling for donations:

I apologize for not being able to make image descriptions for all of these right now since I'm currently dealing with some bad eyestrain these past few days. If anyone wants to write them, I'll try to add them in on the alt text of the corresponding images.
As always, if you're part of an institution like a school or a company, they might also have or will have programs that would focus specifically on assisting the victims of the earthquake so keep an eye out for those programs and you could go through those channels to help if you find it reputable and feel free to add them in the reblogs of this post as well to make things easier for those that would want to help.
Stay safe, everyone!
Edit for Additional Information: @actualbird had added in the reblogs that people from overseas can help out through Angat Buhay as they accept international bank payments as well! Here's a link to their website where you can find more information to help as well as channels to donate from overseas and below are attached pictures that @/actualbird had added in his reblog:
Thank you for all the people who had been so kind enough to donate as well as those who had shared this post for reach! Any little bit of help goes a long way.

What do you usually do when it's too cold to sleep?
put on more clothes
add more blankets
turn up the heat
go heat up a hot beverage really quickly
something else I'll say in the notes
I am unable to do any of these because I don't have the option
I've been messaging with a 17yo kid from Gaza, named Nader.
When I asked what he wanted people to know about his family's situation, he immediately answered "the bitter cold".
His other answer was about how incredibly expensive everything is in Gaza right now. Here's context: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/10/16/how-much-does-food-cost-in-gaza
Can you imagine being in this situation? Made homeless where the stores are no longer getting consistent deliveries and might be bombed, the government is barely operating cuz it keeps getting bombed, there's not even charity getting into your besieged area, and most people's jobsโincluding your big brother'sโhave been bombed beyond repair?
Where it's getting so cold and you CAN'T get warm because you're relying on strangers to help you get that coat or blanket, or bc you need the little money that trickles in to just survive??
And can you imagine living this way for OVER A YEAR as a normal teenager who has a little brother and a baby niece with malnutrition to stress about too?
I know people are tired of hearing about Gaza. It's upsetting that this genocide has continued so long with so few powerful people even trying to stop it. But we have a responsibility to our fellow humans, to help them survive persecution.
Nader is seventeen. None of this should be on his shoulders. Please help his family be safe so he can stop feeling like it's his job to make sure his family has what they need.

Can you give up one treat this week to help Nader's family have the basics?
