Me: I’m cold. -grabs alcohol-
Me: wait no. This is how your terrible great grandfather died.
Sorry for the not so jolly Christmas ask for Headcannons but I just wanted to ask how your son Loverboy would go about comforting an SO when they had to go visit relatives they aren't necessarily okay with... not gonna go into detail just it causes bad memories and blah blah blah they aren't happy but they gotta go,, if they were to invite him along it'd be a while cause they don't talk to them ever except for those occasions so they wouldn't know or probably be okay with the relationship.
(It’s perfectly okay not to give me details darling, but I hope you have a good Christmas regardless of whatever your relatives think.)
Loverboy: It hurts him to see how badly you don’t want to go see your relatives, he has half a mind to try and talk you out of it. However, when you ask him to be your date he not only accepts but he asks you to stay by his side at all times and that he will defend you. Just give him a heads up on who’s who and how far he’s allowed to go retaliation wise. If you don’t give him a limit on how far he can go you may find that some of your relatives start to disappear over time. But, when all is said and done and you’re safely back home he takes the rest of the day to spoil and comfort you, hell he’d even keep going for weeks afterwards just so you know how much he loves and cares for you being you.
Ugly
Not really a fun snippet of my life but I'll tell it anyway.
Growing up my dad's mom was a bitch. She was just an awful woman and I'm not just biased. The first time we saw my dad's dad's family after she died all three of them were talking about how horrible she was and they couldn't figure out why he married her (I'll give you the answer, he wrote a biography for himself and made us all read it and basically the only thing he had to say about her was that she was the prettiest girl he had ever seen).
Well I had an older cousin that both of my dad's parents adored. Idk why, they were both mean and rude to all the rest of the grandkids until my aunt adopted a kid and my cousins dad had another kid, they were fond of them. Anyways I was a playmate for that cousin. I never thought anything really of how bad they were. Nobody ever told me it wasn't normal or good. I actually came home from school in third grade and told my mom I had found out what I was. I was the whipping boy for Danielle.
So grandma was very good at telling me how fat and ugly, stupid, clumsy, messy, useless, and worthless I was. She often mentioned how Danielle was so beautiful and how as a baby she was gorgeous because she had a full head of hair unlike the ugly white babies (me and my siblings). My mom was also very hard on herself, talking about how ugly she was. Which when everyone says I am a carbon copy of her, means I'm smart enough to extrapolate that those words applied to me too. Plus mom had me do diets with her since I was 8. We even did LA Weightloss which was an absolutely awful thing, and Curves. Dad and the older siblings were not any kinder about my appearance. Pretty much the only compliments I got from church members was how much better I looked when I was losing weight. (All this is why I had an eating disorder that I still struggle with and why I know diets for weightloss do not work, you just end up weighing more).
There was one time when growing up ugly actually worked for me a bit. I had heard about boys asking out ugly girls as a prank and the first day of 8th grade two boys approached me and said that their friend wanted to ask me out. I did not buy it. I asked who and they pointed to a group of about 6 other boys who were all giggling. I simply said sorry I don't know any of them and if they wanted to ask me they could do it themselves. They went back to their buddies and that was the end of that.
It does bother @howlingwolf23 though. He tries to give compliments but I also know affection makes people look better in your eyes and it's just not something I have figured out how to accept from him.
I blew up at my family in Dec. and my mom was trying to deny it, that it only applied to her and that I always wanted to go over and play with my cousin. It's hard though, I know by the time I came along mom had accepted her fate living next door to the assholes who only wanted us over to work or entertain Danielle. She almost gave my dad the engagement ring back because his mom met her and, in front of her face, started yelling at my dad about why would he want an ugly Mexican woman. (Which she's not Mexican and Danielle's mother was and she was treated like a princess while she was with my uncle so wtf that would have to do with anything I don't know). But dad lied to her face and told her that she was marrying him not his family. Good God there are so many times I've wished she hadn't let him convince her to still marry him.
Adults fake their care for kids to please other adults. Disgusting adults.
Sometimes I think about how members of my family sound fake as hell.
I went to Christmas party last year at a relatives, get there and there's 3 big ole flags hanging from their balcony,
"Trump 2022"
"I stand with Israel"
And a big honking blue line flag. Like they didn't even have the American flag lol, I'm literally walking into the Strawmans house.
And inside the owner of said house came out to the party twice, once to mention how if any of us weren't vaccinated, not to get it cause they're trying to poison us.
Then another time talking about someone he knew in quote, "he was a black fella, a big scary black fella. But not like one of those unrespectable ones, I served with him in the army so he was one of the good one of em."
Like it's so over the top it sounds fake as hell
Mind your own family.
I can’t believe how some people would go as far as making up stories to degrade someone else and make themselves look great. I, together with my partner and son went to our church’s worship service last Sunday, February 26, 2017. It lasted for almost 2 hours then we had our weekly life group meeting. Our son was in the children’s room while Jhon and I were in the meeting for 30 minutes. There…

my uncle genuinely doesnt think climate change is real and im just. fucking. Done. i just dont understand how someone with a literal phd in physics who read papers on climate change can just decide that “the statistics used were not valid, that graph is not valid.” and im so sick of talking to an actual wall when i know my shit i took a class in environmental science and i take biology yet i cant even argue this
