My Back Pages
Sep 19, 2022
A few weeks ago while combing through my back pages here at Under a Bushel, I suddenly got the following result on my Page 10:
You'd think there would be a link associated with the wording of this error message, but there was nothing. I immediately wrote to support explaining the issue and, of course, waited days for any reply. What arrived was some nonsense boilerplate directing me to a FAQ.
I then noted which posts were at the bottom of Page 9 and atop Page 11 trying to figure out the problem source in-between. When I am logged into my account, however, I am not allowed to see any of my posts further back than March 9, 2014, which were all posted well after my Page 10 problem. :/
So without even archived access to the problem area, there clearly is nothing possible to even try on my end to fix the page, and this was noted to "Daniel N." of Tumblr support on August 26th. Finally a reply to my Catch-22 arrived Sep 15, but now from "Alfredo," who wrote: "Given our large number of users, we just don't have the resources. Sorry about that."
Bottom line: This blog's Page 10 was perfectly viewable without issue and without any changes in the interim for nearly nine years prior to this summer. Now it is not, and no help is offered. Ah, yes, Tumblr support: customer service with a capital T for "Trouble us not with troubles we suddenly and mysteriously created for you!" If any dear reader has some old screenshot of /page/10 to share with me, please do contact me via the blog, thank you!
Bad business
So my friend has been trying to get a dog from Tazewell County Animal Shelter Virginia (VA). They have been extremely rude. I have her blurred out and stuff for personal privacy reasons (face and real name), but this is @evangelinelawson. So that is already incredibly rude. I did ask for the number and called an hour before closing-a reasonable time for animal shelters. The rest of the story will be under read more since it is kind of long.
Keep in mind I want my platform to help-not hurt. But bad business and rude managers/employees are just something else, man.
I'm pretty sure AT&T is throttling my parents internet, but I'm not sure how to prove it. A few years ago it was decent, but now even tumblr is a chore, on the best days. They were told that they are too far out to get better service. Which is ironic, because less than two miles away another road has spectrum. When I say less than two miles it's a 20 minute walk.
This has been going on for years and I have no idea how to help this area or push to get better service.
If anyone actually sees this post can I get some information to get the wheels turning. Greatly appreciated
Man Tumblr's new interface FUCKING SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!?
And I am not the little people man that are afraid of change, I love change, but only if it is better. This shit sucks, it’s a revamped stripped down, mobile version of the dashboard for the PC. It sucks. I fucking hate it. And since Tumblr won't let me back into my writing blog since I was locked out of my email. I fucking HATE YOU TUMBLR, and all of your YAHOO JACKOFFS!. FUCK YOU!
Also thanks for the literally 30 times I tried to ask for help in gaining access to my writing blog over the last FUCKING 6 YEARS! And no one helped, I couldn’t even talk to to a real person. tumblr you are a great, safe, and a happy place for all of us. I hope you can live of the meager amount of money you make from this site. Thanks again.

Come see me asshole I would like to talk to you
How my bf and I spent $100+ seeing Captain Marvel.
I bought tickets to see Captain Marvel last night at a dine-in theater. Cost: $27
We arrived at the parking lot where my boyfriend pays for a parking pass, only to find out that there was a P!nk concert going on, so the lot was being used as event parking. We didn’t have time to drive home and get an Uber, so we ate the parking fee. Cost: $20
Since the movie was at 6:00, we got dinner. (It was refrigerator-cold mac & cheese, and I never got my drink. They made us pay in advance.) Cost: $32
20 or so minutes into the movie, the fire alarm starts going off. The staff keeps serving people like it’s nothing, give us no information for 10 minutes, until a manager finally came in, paused the movie, and told is it was just kids playing with the fire extinguishers, and they’d rewind the movie.
We waited 10-15 minutes and then decided to get a refund, and go see the movie at another theater. New ticket cost: $27
We stood in line with a dozen other people to get refunds, and RIGHT AS we get to the front of the line, the fire department arrives and kicks everyone out of the building. Since we had to get to the other theater, we couldn’t stick around for a refund. (Though we’re going back today to get one, so help me God.)
We arrive at the other theater for an 8:30 showing. I’m half asleep because I’ve been getting up at 5 for work all week, so we get a small soda and some chocolate for a bit of caffeine and sugar (paragons of healthy living). Cost: $10
Total cost to see Captain Marvel: $116 (and several hours of aggravation)
But you know what? Worth it.
Wasted 3 hours at that fucking electronics shop.
