Thank you. :) As I mentioned, I used Pineapple’s CustomPostEffect mod in the pictures. I got the SSAO version of the mod (not sure if the HBAO version has the sun flare effect). You can refer to this and this post if you need some additional installation instructions, but the gist of it is that you need to put two package files into your Downloads folder and replace your UserStartup.cheat with the one provided in Pineapple’s download, and remove any mods that conflict with it, such as Skyfix, Pond & Sea Water Overhaul and Better Nightlife - all of those are already integrated into the PostEffects mod, so there is no need to duplicate. :) The effect has to be activated in-game via the cheat menu (I explained how to do it in my post that I linked above), and Pineapple also gave some instructions on how to adjust the amount and depth of blur in this post. As for other things used in the pic - there is this cute roadside sign by Chimerical, some hood deco fences by Criquette, this Maxis tree default (the non-default version is here), and the hood horizon and animated clouds that I linked below in reply to Shegamerxo’s wcif. The lot in the pictures is mine, but it’s nothing to write home about - it’s the mods mentioned above that are the real stars of the show.

It’s Lowedeus’ Great Sky of Totalitarianism, the hood version. :) I combined two sky domes for the picture, the solid one with the pinkish accents + the new moving clouds. Oh, and the lovely horizon is by Greatcheesecakepersona. :) That’s about all the cc I used on that picture, but the results are still pretty impressive.

I would say a Strip Mall but this Neighborhood looks too nice for Strip Malls. How about small Shops in wall 2 wall 2story Brick Buildings from the good old Times?

More community lots or hood deco in the upper left would fit with that "district"--maybe a gym, garage/gas station, some kind of general or department store, science-y place. On the outskirts of town is usually where these "less pretty" buildings are in RL. And for the downtown strip, maybe some specialty boutiques? Cafés? More houses? Another type of park like public gardens or a playground?

This is how it looks right now, i got some recreated lots from the Sims Old Town (the ones in purple) , and i’m planning on make them over to fit more the current Pleasantview. Also found a lovely Town hall for the place that i also need to makeover, not like Pleasantview needs a big one, but ... maybe here’s where Mary-sue works (?) also thinking about it, i might need to build a small police-firefighters station (?) idk...

That’s a cool Idea.I also wonder if it would be possible to give the User Interface a Major overhaul.I really like the modern white UI they used in Simcity 2013 and later in Sims 4.
That would be amazing! The Sims 2 UI is really outdated and had to get used to it a while ago when I returned to TS2. It is possible to redesign the interface, but I believe changing button positions and the general layout is not. In the ui.package are all interface and icon images stored. But the downside is: There are literally thousands of little images you would have to edit without knowing to which element they belong.

Reshade is easy to use, but it seems the game don’t like to cooperate.
I have the ultimate collection and windows 10.
This is the folder I have to choose:
C:/Program Files x86/Origin Games/The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection/Fun with Pets/SP9/TSBin and then select Sims2EP9.exe
For people with other game versions will be something like C:/Program Files x86/EA Games/The Sims 2 /Mansion and Garden/TSBin (if MG is the higher)
Then I choose direct3D 10+ (dt3d 8/9 just crash my game), choose yes for download effects and then just install all the effects that show up.
One thing that I only notice yesterday when I had to reinstall my game (nothing to do with reshade, just me messing up my game) is that reshade only worked after I removed Securom from the game, theres a nice tutorial here explaining how to do it.
Don’t know if that will solve your problem but try it and see how it goes.
If you’re on a laptop the issue might be dedicated graphic card related. I don’t know if there’s people with reshade working on laptops.
