「 ❀ 」”Huh.. Wha– Why?” The lack of sleep and exhaustion from what seemed to be endless practice schedules had left Suji processing things a little slower than usual. Hence when the male bursts into the room looking desperate while asking for her phone, she doesn’t quite respond immediately and instead stares at him for a moment too long before retorting. True, being a fellow 94 liner and being on music shows at the same time when their groups’ promotion periods overlapped meant the two had been introduced to one another and gotten along, and in a casual manner much to her relief. Suji was never the one to have awkward formalities hanging low upon her shoulders. “Don’t use it to send weird messages like Sehun would.” She states in a playful tone before holding out her phone to him. “What happened to your phone?”

( 88 : 종인  ─  as jongin exited the car and made his way into the venue, it was unlike him to leave the item that almost seemed as though was glued in his hand at all times behind. his phone. how could he have forgotten it? a wave of panic rushed through him as he was unsure on what to do. he enjoyed solo activities, finally getting time away from the hectic life at the dorm -- but the downside was he didn’t have his members around to assist and remind him of things he otherwise wouldn’t. so there he was, finding himself as forgetful as he’s always been.

thankfully, before he had nearly given up, he spotted a familiar face out of the corner of his eye. jongin wasn’t much of a social butterfly. in fact, he tended to act awkwardly even around those who he had met several times before. but this was an emergency and jongin wasn’t going to let his anxieties get in the way. "yeah, your phone --” he repeated quietly as the female seemed to not quite understand him the first time. “ah, i promise i won’t. i just left my phone back in the car and i need to call my manager to make sure it’s not lost for good.” staring down at the device that she had so quickly handed to him, his eyes widened in shock. “you’re really letting me borrow it that easily? i mean not like i’m going to do anything to it but...”

        「 ❀ 」     Winter had come down upon Seoul with a newfound fury and the past few days had been either raining snow or been subjected to nippy cold winds that left the residents always scuffling too quickly when outside, in search of warmth. And Suji was no different from them. Despite her schedules that demanded she go from one location to another in quick succession, she had ensured she was always wrapped in multiple layers of sweaters and jackets accompanied by scarves and hats. But something about the white covered pavements had induced happiness and a thought of romanticism within her (plus, Christmas time was always one filled with love so how could one blame her, really?) Ignoring the warnings that were shot at her, she had often resorted to take small, short walks outside in between practice sessions or when done for the day and today had happened to be one such day. It didn’t take her long to be out of breath while attempting to keep her arms around her and stomp the coldness away but she still enjoyed the short break. Hence when her friend props up the question, a small smile forms on her features. “Because it’s far too beautiful a day to be cooped up inside. I mean, I know it’s cold but look at all the Christmas lights. I cannot believe 2016 is coming to an end already. Do you have any resolutions in mind as yet?”

        ❅           Winter had never been her favorite season, it had been a struggle to always be dressed warm enough while doing ballet, not allowed to let her ankles nor legs freeze, never allowed to do any of the fun activities, only watching from the sidelines. Then there had been the accident, happening in winter, making her feel down around the anniversary each year, always bringing up bad memories. There weren't many days she was actually able to enjoy the tranquility of it, smiling while watching snowflakes fall down, not when she was wary of the cold, feeling uneasy more often than not when getting into her car, it was no season she had deep feelings for.           Thus, not entirely standing why Suzy was standing outside, running into her on her way into the company, needing to step by for a new choreography, asking for the reason about it. Waiting for her car might've been a more reasonable answer, one that was easier to be understood, but the one given making her look around, trying to see the reason behind her fascination. It was only lights, nothing that would cause a festive mood inside her, beautiful to look at in the evening, indeed, but not all that fascinating after all. "Just changing a number at the end of a counter doesn't make all that much of a difference", she mumbled, muttering into her scarf, turning to face the other, head lightly tilted aside. "If only I can dance, I don't need much else. Nobody's following those resolutions so isn't it a waste of time to think about?"

“I do not think I have liked enough people in the past or paid close attention to who I like to know if there is a recurring similarity between all of them. But I will say that something I have taken notice is how the people I tend to like are the ones who have deep thoughts and a thirst for knowledge because I myself enjoy learning something new all the time.” 

Cherry: Who was your first celebrity crush?

“Bae Yoon Joon sunbaenim. Which I realize is quite the typical answer but he is a charming actor with a talent for any role he plays. I have liked him since I was in high school and I remember how I would take screenshots of his character in the movie The Legend. I think I still have those screenshots of him saved somewhere~”

During the holidays seoul goes through seasons like the earth and wears them like stages of life. Some stages are declarations of joy while others are small willows of sadness. They circulate, blend and tumble through the city shuffling the people around in it.

Winter was always the most curious of the sort, puzzling in its combination of stripped trees, frozen noses but warmer hearts. A once naive and vulnerable soohyuk assumed hearts would freeze over with the season, harden and fall prey to the grey skies and gloomy sentiment. It seemed inevitable that the heart match the drawl and drear of the winter days that were longer colder and unforgiving. Maybe it was the loneliness of that time that drove soohyuk to believe such. Now as he lays in the couch with the days speeding by as quick as his thumb across the screen of his phone he would laugh at his own thoughts. Nowadays the days sped through, clutching onto the end of the year and filling man’s heart with finality or emptiness. As he lets the upcoming events flit through his mind he wonders where the winter will leave him and what january will greet with. He considers that cold loneliness when the message pops up.

Like animals they cling to comfort in the winter. Soohyuk’s no stranger to the sentiment and smiles when he types back already sitting up from his position.

「 ❀ 」Wondering out loud had become something of a habit to Suji, of late. And contrary to the image she had to keep up while in public, there were times when she let her guard down and perhaps in the most childish of manner possible like this instance. There she was with her palms pressed against the vending machine at one of the many winding corridors of the JYP buildings, her exhaustion making her prone to being clueless over the simplest of things.Here she was pondering on the flavors of iced tea to pick and murmuring silently under her breath, “Do you want me to pick you or you..?”

What she hadn’t hoped for was an answer that has her startled momentarily before a sheepish smile adorns her features. “Maybe. Or you could answer on their behalf. What do you think I should pick, Sana-yah? Come here, unnie will buy you some iced tea as well. It seems like forever since I last saw you.” Her smile grows warmer as she gestures for the younger girl to join her side.

There are times in her life wherein Sana forgets that she's a 'celebrity' herself, and that she co-exists with the biggest names in the business and of her time. Having been groomed under one of the big three agencies, it's still quite surreal to her that she's made friends with people that other people would consider unattainable and popular. Seeing Bae Suzy in her normal clothes (yet remaining as beautiful as ever) and hanging around the JYP corridors was probably something she was never going to get used to. Nevertheless, she couldn't help but laugh at the other female's antics, as it reminded her that the nation's first love is also very much human with human quirks and tendencies.

Skipping up towards the female by the vending machine, she flashes a brightened smile. "Really? Yay. I'd love the green tea one though.." She says, using her index finger to point towards her drink of choice. "Ah unnie, you’re right, it has been quite a while. We should sit down and catch up. That's if, of course, you're not too busy?"

「 ❀ 」The older girl’s words pull a mild groan from Suji whose features are painted with a resigned expression, but she cannot help but break out into laughter. “But unnie,” she begins a mild protest though well aware of the fact that her curiosity was to get the best of her, but what did she care at this point? What was important was the information surrounding Red Velvet’s next comeback and she Bae Suji was all too eager to hear more insider information on that matter. “Okay then, name your price. I wonder what I could possibly offer the barbie of the kpop world.” Her eyes sparkle in a playful manner as she nudges her chin into the midst of her palm that rests on the table, unwavering gaze fixed on Joohyun.

“Barbie of the Kpop world?” The older female flashed her a look of disbelief. That has got to be one of the most absurd things she has heard in her entire life, considering that Suji was known as one of the top visuals in this generation. It was also really funny how that was the first thing her mind highlighted, always feeling the need to reject whenever someone proclaimed the ‘ethereal’ status of her beauty. “That’s a bit too much...” Awkwardness could be heard in her tone of voice. The more she hears a compliment of such degree, the more embarrassed she gets. Without another word, her mind diverts back to the original question. “How about...skin care products from a brand you recently advertised?” When she had let out the earlier statement, she really didn’t mean literal, material price. However, if she were to spill some top secret information, she had to at least make the most out of it.

Christmas/Winter Starters! 😱 Our muses get snowed into their house!

One of the worst snow storms Seoul had faced in quite a while had decided to hit the town just around Christmas, slightly discouraging the happy spirits of the people who had made plans and wanted to travel. However, inside the houses and homes, the lights were still shining brightly, and the heat and music made everyone forget about the raging storm outside.

Initially, Yoona had wanted to get home before the storm got worse on that night, but Suzy and she had gotten caught up in a conversation and soon found themselves snowed in, with no chances of leaving anytime soon. Still, they weren't going to let this spoil this special day, and so they had decided to continue their chat with some warm food and drinks.

"So, as you were saying before we knew that we'll be stuck in here for a while, you're lonely these days? Does work prevent you from visiting your family at this time?"

「 ❀ 」She’s left slightly startled, attention instantly diverted at his voice that came out of nowhere. True, somewhere along the years, Suji had managed to develop a habit of speaking to herself and especially so when tired. The past week had been incredibly tiring while in Hong Kong. The idol had been shuttled between endless schedules that consisted of practicing for the MAMAs performance, filming her debut music video in between attending events as a spokesmodel for a jewelry brand. Needless to say, she felt quite drained now that she had time to rest. The tiredness washes over her and she’s left in a much more comfortable state once done with her main itinerary.

Perhaps that is the reason why she resorted to mindless talk as she waited in the lounge of the hotel, waiting for her manager. What she did not know was that she would bump into someone familiar and especially so when she was left joking with herself while in the company of bubble tea. The girl had previously settled with her chin in her palm propped up by her elbow on the table before stating, “Why are you so yummy? I can’t resist drinking you all the time. Don’t make me cheat on my diet.”  Of course, she’s left embarrassed to have been overheard and a sheepish expression crosses her features. “I would say yes but that would be a rather creepy situation. Just pretend that you didn’t see this happen, Chanyeol-ssi.”

☼⁶¹ — had suji not been speaking to herself(or rather to food), chanyeol probably wouldn’t have noticed that she was even sitting in the hotel lobby since he had just came in front outside, sunglasses drawn down over his eyes. it’s only when he hears the familiar feminine voice that he actually tugs them up over his eyes before taking them off completely, staring down at the sight of her talking to the bubble tea as she stares at it as well. to him it’s almost as if it’s a longing look, and that’s why it had him speaking up and laughing as well, even though he knew being caught like that, by someone she knows of all people, would embarrass her. but hey, he can relate. when he’s on a diet, he always wants to cheat on it with his favorite foods and other delicious snacks.

‘how can i pretend that i didn’t just see this happen, suzy-ssi?’ he questions with a soft laugh, lips pulled back over his teeth with a very amused grin. ‘i should take a picture and make sure it gets to dispatch and tell them all about bae suzy’s affair with bubble tea, seeing it along in a hotel lobby in hong kong...’ he trails off with a louder laugh, clearly amused with his own antics, but of course he’s only joking. he wouldn’t really do such a thing, but the thought alone is more than hilarious to him. ‘you should drink it. don’t be the cause of forcing two lovers apart,’ he teases, obviously talking about the ‘two lovers’ being suji and the bubble tea. ‘but if you won’t drink it, i’ll be happy to.’
