These delightful Strawberry Buttermilk Doughnuts are a sweet treat that combines the flavors of fresh strawberries and buttermilk. They are perfect for breakfast or a snack.
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 cup buttermilk. 1/4 cup fresh strawberries, pureed. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted. 1 egg. 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1/4 tsp baking soda. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Vegetable oil for frying. Powdered sugar for dusting.
Instructions: Mix together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Beat together buttermilk, melted butter, egg, pureed strawberries, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl. Mixing until just combined, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. In a deep pan, heat the vegetable oil to 350F 175C. Pipe the doughnut batter into the hot oil to form rings using a piping bag or a plastic bag with the corner cut off. Fry for two to three minutes on each side, or until the doughnuts are golden brown on both sides. After taking the doughnuts out of the oil, pat dry with paper towels. While the doughnuts are still warm, sprinkle them with powdered sugar. Your homemade strawberry buttermilk doughnuts are ready to be served. Enjoy!
