omg exes to lovers with bakugou is one of my FAVOURITES i’m squealing just thinking about it !!!!
like if you both broke up for simple reasons like it just didn’t work out, wasn’t the right time or you both were too busy so it was kinda mutual that you should but you know you’re both still into each other but like it’s fair for you not to be together

for sure at the beginning it’s just habit to message each other just casual stuff like you both were still together but you tried not to meet up though you still would randomly fuck
both wouldn’t mention it to your friends either because you know they’d either advise you to just get back together or to stop but old habits die hard lmao
drunk texts !! when he’s drunk it’s like
“ fuckyouu i misdd uou so badly lemme comeover pleade “ or “ i hateyou so m ucsh i wanttr u i saw u with a guuyy the other day i almosST ducked him up BUT KIRI stophed me ducking idot “
but he’s no longer an emergency contact so it doesn’t notify your phone when you’re on do not disturb so when you wake up you then read a very sober katsuki under all those messages saying
“ignore that shit” “it’s true though” “i did almost fuck him up and kiris stupid for stopping me”
he doesn’t mention the wanting you or missing you but he knows you know anyway
whenever you see each other in public like hero events or galas or even on the same mission together (if you’re a hero) he’d be SO annoying
he’d flirt with you like he just met you, some occasions introducing himself for the first time all goofy like
“hi i’m bakugou katsuki also known as dynamight, nice to meet you” with a grin showing all his teeth and his hand out to you “shut up bakugou” “you can still call me katsuki babe nobody is stopping you”
and he is so ANNOYING because you’re stopping yourself because he’s not your boyfriend and you don’t need to fall into these familiarities !!
you’d storm off and he’d continue looking at you the way he does when he knows you look pretty AND HED JUST BE EVERYWHERE that you low-key think he’s stalking you but he’s always doing something to look busy and giving you a smirky side eye like you can’t escape him
has other men not talking to you because they think you guys are together or clearly have a thing going on
he’s also so annoying that if another girl is talking to him he’d entertain it if you’re looking just to annoy you because hey any attention from you is attention !!
another pro hero that looks nothing like you but you can admit is very pretty with her hand on your man bakugou, yeah you’re storming over and politely asking to borrow him quickly, ignoring the sour look on her face when he agrees
jealousy was probs a massive thing in the relationship that you both argued about but now you have no reason to be jealous it makes you even more jealous
so angry ex jealous sex proceeds !! probs in some random bathroom where when u both leave (you always say to leave at least seven minutes while your rushing to readjust your dress but bakugou just shrugs walking out right after you and zipping up his trousers at the same time. has u hitting his arm and complaining in his ear then rushing off to find your friends. he almost does it as some type of statement to everyone else there.
then when he can see youre leaving to get in an uber with ur friend he grabs ur arm softly and says “wait, i can take u home, i needa talk to you.” but you know what the talk is gonna be about and you know you both won’t work together so you tenderly say “maybe another time bakugou” with a nod climbing into the car.
leaving him heartbroken again on the side of the street sheeeeeessssh damn and he hurts from you calling him bakugou still LOL
some miscellaneous stuff is going on holiday with your shared friends and then automatically rooming you both together so (omg one bed !! trope), also going out with shared friends and they’re buying food whilst you’re in the toilet and he remembers your usual order (has u all hearteyed, heart melting (for bonus angsty points if your order has changed)), or him dropping you home because you both live close so it’s awkward in the car n u talk about ur feelings😔😔
facetiming him to ask him if he’s got your jumper or something (sometimes you know he doesn’t have it, it’s sitting right next to you but you need an excuse to talk to him and you know he’ll pick up) has him saying “how come ur always calling ur ex? i hope you weren’t doing this when i was ur man??” and i’ve already said this BUT HES SO ANNOYINGGTGG he has everything staged perfectly, answers the call annoyingly, messes up his hair all attractive like u like, even whips off his t-shirt when he can see you’re calling, makes sure his chain is centred in his chest and sprawls across his sofa, posing and positioning his body before pressing the green phone icon to answer your call. you punch yourself for immediately glancing to his bicep that rests behind his head and the chain glimmering between his collarbones. he’s back to acting like some teenage boy trying to impress a girl he’s got a crush on which he is,,,,,, trying to pull out all the stops for u to ask to want him again.
though you do give in to everything after a while when you’re up way past your usual bedtime thinking about why your life feels so lacklustre. why there’s a gaping hole in the middle which you never remember being there before.
this is when you randomly call him at 4am hoping it goes to voicemail because he’s sleeping, expecting to hear his rude voicemail message rattling back to you but he still has you as an emergency contact, his phone ringing and him answering
a rough croaky voice surprises you and makes you feel nostalgic at the same time, “y/n? baby? what’s wrong” (he never let go of the pet names for you)
and you never realised you were crying at this point silent tears streaming down your face till you let out one loud ugly wail “c-can i come see you please? i-i know you’re sleeping but just to sleep in your bed or some-something i-i know it’s a lot to ask”
and he doesn’t miss a beat, immediate in his reply and you can hear him shuffling to sit up “yeah. yes, you can baby, don’t fuckin cry please. do you want me to come get you? are you hurt? did someone hurt you?”
and you shake your head then remembering he cant see you, “no i’m fine katsuki, just m-miss you. i’ll be there in 15, wait for me?” you try to joke through your tears but it comes out a little desperate, a little honest.
“i always will baby.”
