August Round-Up
August has officially drawn to a close, and with it ends our August Tiva Fic Challenge! You guys gave us some really great stuff this month—we have our fingers crossed that you will all keep up this gorgeous enthusiasm in the month of September! Here are all of the submissions that we were notified about... if your fic was missed, please let us know so we can add it in! Also, if there are any of these that you haven’t already lost yourself in yet, please give them a read! Support our fantastic writers and appreciate all the work they put in this month! Below, you will find the title, the author, and our favorite line for each fic. The title should include a link to each original post so you can read every entry for yourself.
As a reminder, we were following this prompt:
Related to “Truth or Consequences”
Less than 1,000 words
Including the line “You could have died.”
To everyone who submitted a fic, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

August
And last but not least, we received one more fic... as you can see, it was entitled August. The author didn’t want to post or share the fic, but we read it and loved it, and that author deserves to have their fic represented in this round-up, too. Thank you for contributing, author of August!
______________
That’s all for this month, friends! Please keep your eyes peeled in just a few minutes for something totally different coming your way in September! We appreciate each and every one of you—thank you for making our first month such a big success!
Tali DiNozzo: 5, 7, 9, 11
5) A cherished personal belonging.
Throughout the years, Tali’s necklace chain snapped countless times, but she always managed to fix it or got a similar one. The Star of David does not only symbolize her mother’s strength in fighting her battles, but also her father’s determination of not losing hope. The necklace is part of Tali’s story and to go a day without it is to see how much she cherishes it, her hand brushing the spot on her neck where the pendant should always be.
7) This character’s favorite character.
Since the first time Tali watched Mulan while sitting on her father’s lap, the story of the warrior amazed her to a point where she got both Tony and Ziva annoyed by asking them to watch the movie again and again, countless times. When Tali was little, it was more because of the songs and the tale, but as she rewatched it throughout her life, she realized Mulan had taught her to stand up for herself and follow her heart, along with fighting a whole army of men if it was necessary to get where she wanted.
9) What calms them when they are upset.
Whenever Tali is upset, she calls her father, wherever she is and whatever time of the day or night, and he will answer it. She will ask for old funny stories about his time as an agent or little anecdotes about his story with her ima. In five minutes, she will be smiling again. Sometimes he’ll ask about what is making her upset and they’ll work through it together, sometimes he won’t talk, just listen. And sometimes, he’ll just laugh. It helps anyway, and she is glad she has him as a father.
11) This character’s favorite piece or pieces of clothing.
Since she was little and even before the thing could even fit her, Tali wore the beaten up ncis cap as if part of her own clothes, anywhere she went. Her uncle advised her not to wear it everywhere because it meant a connection to the agency, but her father made a pact with her not to wear it only when Uncle Timmy was there. It now sits hanging from the frame of her bed, the color dull but still there. She never asked about the nine millimeters hole though.
send me a character and a number and I’ll tell you my headcanons
thank you!! sorry it took so long haha
Fic prompt: blue Gatorade
rey watches poe run off the field, his hair sweaty after being shoved under his football helmet for the better part of two hours. she can’t stop the grin that forms on her face when he scans the bleachers and sees her, a matching smile transforming his face.
she waves shyly, not expecting him to come over right away - after all, he’s just made the championship winning play and his teammates are all jostling to congratulate him.
but poe ignores them and runs straight for her, discarding his helmet somewhere along the way.
“hey,” he grins, breathless, stopping on the bleacher right below rey’s. she looks down at him, startled by his sudden presence and does the only thing she can think to do.
she dumps her half-full blue gatorade on his head.
rey’s hands come up to cover her mouth and poe splutters, shaking his soaked curls in a passable imitation of bb after being caught in a rainstorm.
“wha-?” he starts, only for rey to cut him off.
“i’m sorry!! it’s just - in movies, when a team wins, they dump - gatorade on the -” she trails off, narrowing her eyes at poe’s gasping laughter.
she crosses her arms across her chest - embarrassed - and poe reaches up to grab one of her hands. “sunshine, the team usually dumps gatorade on the coach’s head,” he’ grinning, drops of blue liquid rolling down his cheeks.
“oh,” rey mumbles.
poe jumps up one bleacher step and presses a quick kiss to her lips. he tastes like blue gatorade and home.

Is it Sarah Dessen appreciation day!? I wanna play! My first of her books was 'Someone Like You' when I was in 8th grade. It's been my fave ever since. But I think her new one coming out might replace it as number one. I said MIGHT we'll see.
